Love the look. Have you ever considered trimming an eighth an inch off of the sides of that hat? Sorry, just could not help myself. Fedora

No I haven't. I trimmed the brim of my other hat with mixed results and have become very happy with this brim. I think the wider brim is a bit more dashing. Maybe that's corney. Oh, well. I'll keep it in mind, though, and we'll discuss it when I order my Adventurebilt.

Looking good. A brown fedora goes good with a black suit. Pageys ABs, HJs, and your Akubra are some of the best fedoras, I have seen.

It's actually a dark green. But it was a cloudy day so it's hard to tell.

You are your own man. Good. :D I just have a bad habit of wanting to bring things into proportion, or at least Indy proportions. A compulsion. Most here know how I am, so please do not take my remark as any sort of critisism. I just can't help myself! regards, Fedora

That's absolutely alright. For one thing, the cut on the other brim wasn't as clean, so I'm not trying it again. Someday I'm sure I'll send it your way for a reblock, then I'll let you tweak it What have you found to be the Indy proportions? This hat is 2 7/8 front and back, 2 3/4 on sides. The HJ on Todd's is listed at 3x2 3/4.

Weird. My HJ from Todd was 3 by 2 1/2. Factory dimensional cut too. I just go by the looks of the hat on the person really. Everyone can't use the film brim widths and still look right. I always felt most fans go for a bit too much on the sides, but that is just me. When MK, Indydawg, Michaelson and myself had Ron make the Akubra Federation for us, we specified a large dimensional cut so that smaller hat sizes could at least trim down the sides, while the larger brim width would also suit the bigger head sizes. Since we could not specify the various brim widths, this is the only way that we could go to cover everyone. Just a bit of history thrown in here for new folks. regards, Fedora

I really like what you've done with that Akubra, my man. Great job, absolutely wonderful.

Your right Fedora. I just checked Todd's and it is 3x2 1/2. I wear a 57 or 7 1/8-7 1/4 and it probably is a bit small for a brim this size. But like I said, I think it looks good and dashing, and I'm afraid of cutting it. Besides, when I get an AB, the two will be even more different from one another. I'm sure I'll want to consult you on these matters as they pertain to my hat size and face shape, as Pagey did with the crown height. That is another great thing about having you around. You're not some mass production warehouse. You're like our personal fedora consultant.
