Kylläpä vaan. Parempia Indy-housuja tuskin löytyy...
Yes, the current Wested pants are a very close match to what Noel Howard offered back in the days. Good price too.
Back pocket flaps aren't as scalloped as the MBA ones, due to cost-effectiveness - the minuscule detail improvement wouldn't stand in proportion to the higher production cost and end price.
As for the size - if you have a pair of well-fitting pants (Levi's jeans, for instance) with waist and inseam sizing, go with those measurements when ordering your Westeds.

The pants are £49 + shipping.

Anyway - the current pants are a close match to MBA. The 1st generation pants (as seen on the website) are a bit too light for that lovin' Indy feeling.
Left - 1st gen Wested, right - current prod. Wested. Flash made pic weird.
Different pics, yes, but taken at Wested House at the same occasion, same light, same camera. That's very much what they look like "live".

I have both and I LOVE the new color. Buy them unhemed and have the pocket flaps made by a tailor as I did - you wont regret it. And these suckers are STRONG. The color BTW is very close to actual officers pinks.
PS
I bought mine one size larger and Machine washed them BEFORE I had them altered. This will shing them, get rid of the crease, and give them a Nice droopy hang if that's what you want.
Thank´s a lot for the info,folks!
The current Wested-pants seem to have the colour, the real "officers pink",
I didn´t like shade they have on the website,by the way. In many pics they look grey, captions from the films that is...
V.P...Kuvat tulee aikanaan!

Thats cool that the Wested trousers are more "Raiders" accurate in the color because thats what most of my gear is...Raiders style.
But, when I watch LC, his pants look like they have more red in the color. I wonder if Wested offer variations in the color, or just one standard color in these trousers...? I realize that lighting is everything in movies, so I may be wrong here. I'm hoping to get a pair in the near future!
Kind Regards,
Captain D

At least you spelling doesn't **** like my post. Hey with the hours I keep I'm tired all the time but that's not my problem -- I just can't type.Once again proof that you shouldn't post when your tired.
KC - What area do you live in - Mybe there is an Indy fan near you who has the newer trousers and can show you. If you like I can send you one of the pocket flaps I had removed from mine when I had the new flaps made.
ALSO - If it is just the color and style you are going far May I recomend that you find a pair of trousers that have the basic look you want, by them unhemmed and have the extra material made into screent accurate flaps. Even with the altertation it will be cheaper than the Wested - Though in my opinion the Westeds are worth every pound i paid.
Re: the reddish color on film. I had this problem with Ken's trousers in Treasure of the Templars in the dessert scene. I had to do some MAJOR color correction because the looked out right PINK.
I'm in Northern California and am pretty much absorbed by work for the next couple of months.
If your pocket flap is an example of their current material, I would love to either borrow it or purchase it from you. It would help me to decide what to do about the Wested's.
My original preference was to buy a pair of M.B.A's. Obviously, I missed that boat. So, I've been keeping an eye on the Wested's.
My temporary solution is to attempt to dye some khakis that I have collected until I can obtain some cavalry twills in a good Raiders color. Of course, dyeing the khakis was going to be a best guess thing based on frame caps, etc.
Anyway, please let me know about the flap. I appreciate you even offering!
BTW - how did you have the new ones made? Where did the fabric come from?
KC
edit: Oh! T.E. Lawrence - rereading your last post, I think I understand that you made the new flaps from the material left over from your hemming.

PM me with your address and I'll send you one of the flaps - NO CHARGE - Just send it back or pass it on to another fan who may need the reference.
Re Material for the flap - When I bought the trousers from Peter at Wested I ordered them one size larger and asked for the longest Unhemed pair he had. Since I was actualy at his shop at the time He let me pick the ones I wanted. When I got home I washed them in HOT water and dried them --- UNHEMED -- this gave them all the shrinkage the would need and got rid of the pressed seem. THEN I took them to a local tailor along with pictures of what I wanted and had them remove the oriinal flaps and replace them with new ones. While I was there I picked out a couple buttons that I liked and had those replaced as well. I asked that they leave as much material as possible for the hem so I could have a large (INVISABLE STITCH) hem to help weight the trousers and make them hang more to my liking..
If you really wan to do this and keep as much material as possible for the hem them I recomend that you ask them to make the underside of the flap out of a heave PREWASHED cotten this will allow them to cut less material from the trousers.
LAST NOTE: Make sure when they make your flaps that they use some kind of facing inside (LIKE THE ORIGINALS) so the flaps dont curl on you.

You know, never having examined Harrison Ford's butt so closely before, and taking a look at all the photos you posted, I noticed one thing about his pants. Maybe someone else noticed it, too:
It doesn't look like there are any actual pockets in the back...only flaps.
There doesn't seem to be an outline of the pockets. When he's stretching and bending, I'd expect to see the interior pockets pressing against the inside of the pants. It's perfectly smooth.
Of course, Canyon wouldn't complain that there's no VPL. (Visible Pocket Line)
I'm I mistaken, or does this change everything?

Really interesting observation and Highly possible, having had some experience in Film wardrobe.
I just put mine on and checked out my own bumm and did not see any lines either however Harry's cheeks seem particularly smooth - dare I say.
BTW Does your boss know that youre studying Harrisons kiester on the clock?

I seem to recall a story from years back that in order to be able to claim clothing as a business expense on your taxes, they had to be built without pockets so that they couldn't be used for normal street useage. Now this story was told by a stage entertainer who had his wardrobe made for him, but it would make sense not wasting time making pocket linings for a costume unless they were specified by the script as having to be "practical."
Good eye! I never noticed that before.
Cheers!

As it happens, I have a pair of trousers that I bought about 5 years
ago from a store called KappaHal and they were on sale, the brand says Friday. They look like good enough alternative:pocketflaps and khakis and stuff but I was little overweight then! They´re too loose now so I´m thinking of getting me new ones From Wested Co.
Have any of you heard or bought the same brand pants?

Yeah, I heard from these pants; there are "new versions" of the police officer pants... I own the old ones, with just one small pocket; fortunately covered by the gunbeltJ_Weaver wrote:Those looks great Tom! The only problem is that the only ones I can find have several little pockets on them.
Thankx Alabama. You can't go wrong with these pants, they just cost me about $ 3.00 US (2.00 Euros).
