Hints from Heloise
Dear Heloise,
I think I may have mentioned this before, but one of the sleeves on my Noel Howard shirt totally ripped in half at the elbow. No idea why. It wasn't the Thugees. It just wore out, I guess. Rather than toss it, I took it to a tailor, who is converting it to a short sleeve shirt for me for only about $6. I should have it this week.

Thank you, Al for this very helpful money-saving tip. Nonetheless, you really need to get a life.

He can fry an egg, he can change a diaper, he can sew a cuff! He's Modern Man, he's Modern Man, he's capable but tough!
Incidentally, the collar on my shirt is all frayed too. And when I asked the seamstress if she could use the sleeve material to make new collars, she said no. But I suspect she just didn't feel like working that hard; I'm sure it could be done.
Let's face it, I'm postponing the inevitable. I need to drop another $90 on a new shirt.

Another thought
As long as the shirt is falling apart, if you decide to get a new shirt, how about donating the old one to the ever ongoing quest for the right color redye project. that way we don't have to keep shrinking my shirt every couple weeks!
Just a thought!

Believe me, Dalexs, if I were going to send anybody anything gear-related, it would be you. BUT, my plan right now is to wear this shirt into the ground. Once the short sleeves wear out, maybe I'll be able to convert it to a tank top.
Besides, as far as I'm concerned, the color issue was solved the first time I used dye remover.
Just one man's opinion, of course...
