Dyeing a L.L. Bean safari shirt...

Post by Glurrk »

I noticed the section on dyeing a Noel Howard shirt the proper color; has anyone tried dyeing an L.L. Bean shirt??? Just curious.

this thread should really be moved to the "other gear" section.

I think the ll bean shirt is a pretty good replica of the color, with a little dirt of course, so It shouldn't have to be dyed to get the look.

Check with Dalexs, he's been trying to do it, but the material is very tough to uncolor from what I remember, but he's your man....

Like Charkles said, the color is actually pretty good, its just a little to dark.
I've tried like h*ll to lighten it. After 3 rounds in remover its still not nearly as light as it can be but it looks pretty good.

The material is really tough and holds the original color very well.

If you can do it, more power to you.
