As there has been some speculation regarding the look of the HJ Poet lately, I thought I might as well throw in what they look alike nowadays:
Here's a link:

and a picture:
If they always had that design or not I don't know.

It looks a lot different from the Poet I just received from Todd's costumes!

That's the Poet without the Indy modifications. Here's a pic of my 1972 Poet:

Here's a pic of my 1972 Poet:
Did it come with the small front crease already? - If so, do you know if they're original?

No just the top center dent. This was the one I had to shave, but the top dent was there, though easily popped out due to the soft, unstiffened felt.

DE,
How is the thickness of the felt of the 1972 compared to the more recent offerings of the past several years? Any idea?

I have a 2000 and a 1999 which have the thickest felt, a 1992 which is much thinner and the 72 which is about the same as the 92. My Optimo Indy is a shade thinner than the 72 or 92.

DE, that's some sweet hat you've got. What does the liner and sweat band look like?

I have two types of these bashes formed on the block hats, a bunch of Tonaks and an Indiana Miller 256. When the bash is popped up, the block doesn't look like the typical open crowned block, it looks like Fedora's Adventurebuilt block, that is, an arching dome front to back. I'm guessing a bashed on the block HJ with the top bash popped up would differ from an open crowned HJ in the same way? Thanks Mark and Dakota. ...At least one thing this arch does is give a hat a fuller smoother arch of a top curve, -like the Raiders hat?
