Saddle tan whip pics

This is a 9 foot saddle tan kangaroo bullwhip that I just finished. I was happy with the way it turned out so I thought I would share some pictures. It's going to Bruce Leader.

One of the things I've been working on is making my kangaroo and cowhide bullwhips smaller in diameter and closer in size to the whips used in the movies. This whip and Andiana's whip have both been what I feel to be successful efforts at getting the size of the whip where I want it.

From what I've seen you do really great work Adam. I hope one day I'll be able to crack on of your whips and see how they handle. Keep it up!

It's nice to see that you added the IOAB section on your site aswell.

Do you offer 8 plait versions aswell?

I do offer an 8-plait cowhide whip, but it is only pictured in my gallery and doesn't have it's own page yet.

That whip looks great, Adam! You know, I didn't really dwell on it, but I did notice that my whip seems very thick, much thicker than in the movies. I didn't even think to request a particular diameter. Oh well! Does it mean the number of 'bellies' is different?

Texas Jones,

Your whip has two bellies, but one of the bolsters was cut from thicker leather and that's what made it thicker. When I made your whip, I was going off the specs that Indiana Mikey had requested since you ordered your whip after seeing pics of his. He wanted his whip with a 3.25" circumference on the handle, which is bigger than a 'standard' Indy bullwhip.

The fact that your whip is a littler larger and heavier should make it easier to cut pop cans in half and break beer bottles, if you ever want to impress the neighbors with stuff like that

. I've tried breaking bottles before, but I find that every time the bottle breaks it also cuts off my cracker

Hey Adam,

Wow! I'm impressed. Usually your whips look extremely good but this one looks...awesome! That saddle tan hide is beautiful. The thinner, conical handle definitely makes it more "Indy", and the turk's head knot is perfect too! Congrats my friend.

I look forward to seeing one of your cowhide bullwhips with the improved Indy look.

Oooooohhh.....I am sooo excited! I can't wait to get my whip! Thanks Adam, it looks absolutely awesome! I am heading to my inlaws for xmas, and I might just bring it along (asuming I have it in time). Not necessarily to threaten them

Bruce, I'm taking my new Strain to visit my parents over the holidays, (for something to do.) So, I'd say go for it!
