Creaky Wested Goat
Hey Guys. I got a Wested Goat in Dark Brown a few months ago and it is just about the best leather jacket I've seen, it fits perfectly and is excellently made, but I do have a minor gripe with it. It tends to creek when moving slowly. I don't notice it when walking around but when I drive or sit down with the jacket on, it seems to make a lot of noise. Can this be sorted by using a leather conditioner or the dryer method? If conditioner is the way to go, what is recommended that can be easily found in the UK? Sorry if you've heard this question a million times before!

Welcome aboard!
Arghhhh....Michealson got to him first!
I was just about to say....Hey Mr. Langley : Just want to say...welcome aboard! You'll find us the warmest, friendliest and weirdest bunch on the internet .
In thinking about your problem...Are you sure its the jacket that's creaking? Man!...when I turned 40 this year....talk about weird noises eh! (I think Bill Cosby talks about all the new noise we make when we hit 40)
It's just a thought..."A strange one but "a thought"..
Once again
Welcome

...hmm, in the spirit of TGIF, I think the joke I heard goes something like this: You know you’re getting old when you sit down to breakfast and the snap, crackle, and pop you hear is not coming from your cereal. <rim shot>Indiana Jess wrote:Once you hit 40 if there is a part of your body that doesn't snap, crackle or pop - it doesn't work.
So RossLangley, it appears that we can deduce from most of the replies that the hide used on your jacket came from a ‘OLD’ goat and let’s make it clear that I’m not referring to Peter.
I’ve heard that also and I thought that was because it comes in an aerosol can - but I forget for sure.Swindiana wrote:Letap is the best stuff you can get in the UK, or so I've heard. Someone might chime in on this. I believe this is the stuff recommended by Wested, but they can't ship it outside the UK.
