Winter jacket

Post by Indiana Gus »

In this time of year with the weather getting from chilly to cold very fast, I'm experiencing that my Wested ToD Goat won't be the warmest jacket available during the winter...

That's why I was wondering if Wested jackets (and others) could be made also as winter versions, equipped with an extra warm lining beneath the regular cotton/satin. The sizing would be automatically bigger of course.

Wearing extra clothing underneath your regular (summer) Wested isn't ideal i.m.o., because this usually comes from under the jacket causing a not so pretty sight, at least not an Indy style look.

Any thoughts on a winter jacket?

I used to own a Cowhide Wested - that's a warm jacket, warmer than the goatskin or lamb anyway.

Wear your Wested as an under Jacket with a winter coat over top. The look is cool.

I imagine Thinsulate is an option for a liner beneath the cotton... :-k Where I live it's about 37 degrees outside (approximately), and wearing another coat I have lined with thinsulate, I can't tell the temperature difference between inside and outside. And it's not bulky at all.

It's probably an option. But you must send Wested the liner so they can include in your jacket.

I believe IndianaMikey had flannel backed with the cotton/satin. He said it was pretty warm. Not as great as thinsulate, but a lot better than nothing.

I'm actually getting a long winter coat. I know it'll be big on me, so maybe a Wested underneath won't look so bad :-k
