RECEIVED - Fedora's pure Beaver Fedora

Post by Indy_Chris »

I am proud to say that I am the VERY happy owner of one (soon to be two!) of Fedora's new pure Beaver Raiders hats. I opted for the pure TN beaver and I'm very happy. The hat is top-shelf all the way. Hand sewn liner, gorgeous ribbon, sweatband, etc. The fit is terrific. It is my first Beaver hat, and I'm glad I waited. You cannot go wrong with a pure Beaver, custom hat that is all hand made for this price! It is by FAR the best Raiders hat I have ever owned. I see no point in buying any others when you can get this quality at this price. Fedora has been terrific communicating with me every step of the way, talk about personalized service! I HIGHLY reccomend his work. I can say without hesitation that it is the BEST Raiders hat I have seen. I think everyone is really going to be impressed. I'll post pics when I can.

I think he was always able to produce proto-type versions. I believe he mentioned that in his post.

I am hoping to have everything in place by early Fall. Until then, if you want a hat in my size(7 1/4), or 7 3/8, I can make you one with a plain sweat and plain liner for 175 for the beaver and 75 for the rabbit. regards, Fedora

That's what I was wondering, Hemingway. I remember Fedora saying he could still make them (in my size!) with the basic sweats and liners, but I'm curious to see every imaginable angle of Indy_Chris' hat! I'd be interested to know if this has just the basics, or any of the newer "bells and whistles." I'm just WAY to impatient! In the words of Varuca Salt, "I want it now!!!!"

Me too, bink,
I am so impatient, I can't tell you.
I can see you, bink, "I want it now! DaDDEE. I want a Fedora with a golden crest." -Singing that song, dancing around the Chocolate Factory.
Ahhh! There goes bink, down the shute.
"Where does it lead?"
"The incinerator."

Uh, yeah, Michaeloson... Jess' dirty laundry pile is right over there.

And I don't know which is worse, the incinerator, or blowing up like a giant blueberry? :-k

At any rate... when can I get my Fedora, Fedora?

So Fedora, just curious, but is that just a prototype, or is this new hat we've all been waiting with bated breath to see (if it is, I LOVE IT!) :D :junior: -IJ

The only difference would be the felt. This is Tennesse felt, and the other hats will be a softer Argentina felt. Thanks Fedora

 That is THE hat!!!

I'm more and more leaning towards the full 6" open crown and the 1 3/4" ribbon.

What size are we talking here and what are the specs. on the brim?

Oh, and well done my friend!

Regards,

Marc

Specs

Post by Indy_Chris »

Thanks for posting that Fedora, I couldn't figure out how to link up the pics you sent me. The specs are as follows:

size 7 3/8
6" open crown
Front and back brim 2 7/8"
Sides 2 5/8"
1 3/4 " ribbon.

It's funny how small the crowns on my other hats look now after wearing this hat. I really like the taller crown. I think it will look a lot better once I really break it in. This is actually the second one that should arrive tomorrow. The first one I got is identical. I decided on the medium weight felt for the winter up here in New England. I wear them in the snow and rain and the older, thinner felt hats I have just flop all over the place and don't keep their shape. I think these will work out great. Fedora has been nothing short of a gentleman and custom hatter all the way! I think the forum just found it's new #1 vendor!
