Got it !

Post by Ace »

I finally found a genuine MKVII bag in very good condition.
The inside is perfectly marked with "W&G Ltd. 1942 VII".
The price was 10euro wich is about 12$. I had to add some $ for the shipping though.

I thinks it´s was a pretty good price for such a relic.

Did you find it in a store, or on the unnamed auction site, or someplace else?

Hi
I found it at a private WWII collector who had a site on the Internet with a sale/trade section.

This was the onlyone he had available.

Darnit! My neighbor was an era aficionado. He had alot of things from WWI and WWII, his basement was full of artifacts of everything in that era. He loved airplanes. Knew all about them. He might have had some gas respirator bags...Maybe I'll have a look when I go bac to visit the states.

It's always fun to find one in that condition.

Congrats,

Looks exactly as nice as mine did when it arrived. (Now, a year later I have lost the original strap, cut out the divider and had a press stud I had pulled of replaced. The bag looks like it has seen adventure now  ) Nice find. I paid 27,50 euros, from a collector too. It seems your collector had a lot more of them lying around or something.

Sometimes I kick myself for not living in the states with access to a lot of gear, but there are just some items that are a lot easier to get by here in Europe, like these bags and the French 1930 holster I got for 10 bucks.

Hey Marcus. Where did you get your holster from ? Was it from a surplus store also ?

A Dutch online auction. I was really lucky there. I've never seen something quite like it after that.
