From falls & poppers to plaiting & cracking technique, this section is dedicated in memory of Sergei, IndyGear Staff Member and Whip Guru. Always remember to keep "Celebratin' Life!"
Hemingway jones and I contacted Robert Duke some time ago, Well the fruits of our labor have just arrived. Im no expert but they look like a nice pair to me. The toughest part is .
1. Fighting the urge to crack them a work.
2. Having to wait untill Tim picks one.
3. Not killing every guy at work who has called me a HOMO when I opened a box with 2 whips in it.
Very nice looking. I still want a pair of 6 footers soon to start working on two handed cracking at the same time. Maybe later this year I'll order some up.
I get a lot of comments on my whipcracking from people at work concerning whips and (insert naughty words here). But I always tell 'em, once you crack a whip the first time really well (CRACK!) - you're hooked. So I take it all tongue in check. I've shown a few of them what I'm capable of with them after two years of cracking and that usually silences them (with their mouths open in awe). I'm no Sergei by far, but I can finess it enought to make the normal off the streeter be impressed.
They look very nice. Have you tried cracking them at one time?
Have you ever cracked a whip yet? is this your first one? your lucky
you got such a good maker, to make a whip for you. Robert does some nice stuff.
Adam
Very cool looking whips. Congrats guys! Tim, when you make your way back to these parts, make sure you bring that sucker. Love to check it out in person.
'Blues
I haven't been down there since Christmas. I think my mom thinks I am mad at her, which I most certainly am not. As soon as I do come down, I'll definitely let you know, and I'll bring a bunch of show-and-tell stuff. I am looking forward to meeting you in person. Just so all of you know, IndyBlues is good people.
So is IndyFist, whose idea it was to get these whips. I can't wait to get mine as that it will be my first whip. After reading Adam's post I realize that this will be the first time I ever crack a whip. I'll probably do it on my roof-deck, overlooking Boston. I think it's great that Fist and I got them at the same time since we are such good friends. Now, I just have to wait for him to pick one, and send me the other.
Thank you, Robert,
That's awfully kind of you. I am looking forward to seeing your work. Mine should arrive from Fist sometime this coming week. I am looking forward to working with it, hoping to become proficient. Thank you again for making these for us.
