Thanks! That's a really awesome conversion, and way beyond my skill. That being said, knowing it fits the holster helps a ton so I might get it anyway.

Cheap gun to fit Todd's holster?
Hey, guys. I have a holster from Todd's Costumes on the way and was looking for a cheap gun that would fit it well. As cool as Todd's gun is, I can't afford that much for a costume prop. I'd prefer to find something for less than $50 US. The airsoft guns offered by Speedytoys, while not terribly SA,...

How to find wool Indy-like pants with a modern fit
Hey, guys. I've started looking into getting a pair of Indy-like pants. I'm not concerned about perfect screen accuracy, but instead want a get a comfortable pair of pants that I can wear in regular life. I really like the look of the cavalry wool material, but the baggy 1940's fit of the Indy pants...

Re: Indy Fedora Alternatives?
Thanks for all the compliments, guys. My old jacket was at the tailor since June because the zipper needed to be replaced. Finally seeing the hat with the jacket and an Indy-ish shirt really made it all come together. I appreciate you all pointing me in the right direction! Texan Scott, I am looking...

New boots on the way. Should I do anything to protect them?
Hey, guys. I just purchased a pair of Red Wing Heritage 213's from a clearance website. I'm really excited for them to arrive in the mail next week, so in the meantime I'm doing some research. It looks like there are a ton of boot care products out there, so I'm trying to figure out what I need to d...

Re: Indy Fedora Alternatives?
Just wanted to give an update on this now that I have had the Fed IV for a week. When I first put it on it still looked a little large on me, but after a week of getting used to it I think it's exactly the right size. I still wouldn't wear it with a collar-less shirt, but it looks fantastic with a c...

Re: Is the collar on my jacket fixable, or should I return i
I think he really wanted some advice on straightening out the collar. This really thin leather could be broken in with a little time and work, but I think the jacket is a bit too large for him. I don't blame him for sending it back. Thanks, Texan, you are correct. I was trying to find a way to hold...

Hi, John. I did contact the vendor as well. I explained the issue and a return number was issued. I have already sent the jacket back. This thread is in no way a complaint about US Wings.

Flathead, I did the test on a similar piece of leather, not the actual jacket. Please see the post where I said I would not do anything to risk my return. Again, your concern is appreciated but not necessary.

US Wings. Don't worry, I'm not going to do anything that would risk my return at this point. Because you tried to "fix" it with water, you may not be able to send it back. Sarge does monitor this site, and if he sees that you did something to the jacket, like putting water on it to try to...

Part of the raider's brim design is also dependent on how the hat is turned thus effecting the crown.... In that case it sounds like I should shape the brim first then bash the crown. Thanks! Maybe the next size down might be more to your liking? If you are looking in that price range, you might consider Todd's as well. His are lambskin though. This looks like cowhide from USW? This is lamb. You're right that the size of the jacket might be a bit large. I have the side straps pulled in ...

Re: Is the collar on my jacket fixable, or should I return i
Unfortunately, leather collars and boxed shipments don't mix. The good part is that leather breaks in, and relaxes with time. Try kneading the collar by rolling it upon itself, and I think you will find that the collar will relax and look normal with some effort. As you have free time, just repeat ...

It's really wonky, I'd not do the water treatment until I knew it was made correctly, as it will invalidate any returns.

Is the collar on my jacket fixable, or should I return it?
Just received a new jacket in the mail today. For the most part it is awesome, with a glaring exception being the collar. The collar appears asymmetric, and I haven't been able to shape it to look better. The big difference it that one side of the collar stands up vertically whereas the other side, ...

I was wondering the same thing, Geno. Wasn't the Temple of Doom fedora tapered? I know the ToD is not the community favorite, but at least I wouldn't be committing too much Indy-blasphemy if I ended up with a tapered crown.

Yeah, the Adventurer has a wider brim than the Indy hat, but the "standard" Indy hat is already 5 1/2" open crown with a 2 1/2" brim at the sides and 2 3/4" brim at the front and back, so the Sydney isn't much smaller than say, the Fed IV (which is actually 5 5/8" open...
