Yup. More power to him, I hope he's making a lot of sales. He makes great looking whips at affordable prices.

It will be interesting though, to see how cowhide with stainless steel cable core feels compared to the traditional all roo Victor Tella whip.

Yeah. Dusty said delivery for me would be sometime in August. My Tella should be here in about a month since I paid the extra $50 rush charge.

Finally pulled the trigger on my first "real" bullwhips!

A little spring cleaning in the gun safe meant enough play money to purchase my first "real" bullwhips. I ordered an 8' black and brown roo hide Victor Tella bullwhip and a 10' Dusty Damrel Streets of Cairo. Now the waiting game begins... =P~

Re: Flying with bullwhips in the US?

Thanks for the invite, Dalexs. Unfortunately, this is not a pleasure trip, but my time will be spent with my mom during her cancer surgery and treatment. Things are expected to go well, but I figure they might go even better if I'm standing by her hospital bed with a bullwhip. ;) In all seriousness,...

Flying with bullwhips in the US?

Has anyone here flown in the US with a bullwhip in a carry on bag? I've got an upcoming trip and plan to travel light, without checked baggage, but would like to bring a bullwhip along. Unfortunately, I'll be flying from Orlando to Boston, and the TSA I've dealt with in those two airports have been ...

Re: How I made a jrzjoe special into a cracker of a cracker!

As I said, I would certainly not recommend jrzjoe, but I got lucky with mine. It came with a surprisingly well shaped, high quality leather fall, and the thong has a taper of about 4:1. The plaiting is certainly not as tight as a 'real' whip, and who knows what's in the belly, but after adding weigh...

Re: How I made a jrzjoe special into a cracker of a cracker!

Thanks for your input, riku1914. As to your first question my only experience with a real whip was handling a 10' del Carpio for a brief time at a local cowboy festival. It was obviously a far superior whip, but it was in an exhibition building, and there was no place for me to crack it. I understan...

How I made a jrzjoe special into a cracker of a cracker!

When I was putting together my Indy gear, and before I knew anything about whips, I purchased a jrzjoe whip from ebay. It looked the part, was real leather, and was pretty cheap. All it was going to do was hang on my belt. How could I go wrong? Fast forward a few days after I clicked the 'buy it now...

I guess I better start thinking more along the lines of months until my hat is ready, instead of days or weeks.

Re: Peters Brothers custom fedora thread....

I would love to see more PB custom Indy fedoras! Post 'em if you got 'em! :D I ordered a Last Crusade with a Raiders pinch around the end of November. I'll certainly post pics when it arrives. BTW, those who have ordered PB hats, what carrier do they use to ship in the US? Do they contact you when ...

Re: Is the bottom of Indy's holster plugged or open?

I thought it was because of all the wisdom he had gained over the years. He realized it was wiser to wear the bag over his jacket. He never got over the feeling of helplessness hanging on that tanks gun. I suspect if it were an intentional decision based on that reasoning, someone on the film would...

Re: Is the bottom of Indy's holster plugged or open?

Not SA but definitely SR and no one's going to notice. True. However, I have found a local guy that repairs leather shoes, luggage and handbags, so I'll probably take it to him and see what he'd charge to shorten the holster and stitch the plug back in. I've blocked a few leather holsters, and cust...

Is the bottom of Indy's holster plugged or open?

Most screen captures make it look like it's open, but I can't tell for sure. I want to shorten my WPG holster, and if I could do it without replacing the plug in the bottom, it would make the job much easier.
