Re: adVintage Hats
Well, I certainly understand the problems that can come with merchandising. I don't understand how other people were filling orders from you when all the while you were telling me that you had none in stock. That is the only thing I didn't understand. Sean got his in December. So that is all that I ...

Re: adVintage Hats
Gents and Ladies, Frankly, I had never heard of AdVintage Fedoras prior to reading this thread. Upon reading a bit about them here at COW, talking with the Owner (Thomas), and perusing their website - I decided to take the plunge. By way of background, I live in the US, and I have been a member her...

Re: Question about the Poet
I am really impressed with the knowledge and experience here. You guys are the bomb. I have tried to contact adVintage, but I think he must be on vacation. I know that he said in an email: "Regarding the Christys: Unfortunately the sizes that are sold out with colors silvergrey, black, steelgre...

Question about the Poet
Back about 2 years ago, I bought a Penman or two, a Garrison, and a Steele and Jones ROLA bash. I love the hats and each has gracefully found their different uses. Well, I have given it some thought and decided I want an HJ Poet. For some reason, rattling around in the back of my head-it's pretty mu...

Re: Who makes the best streets of Cairo?
I have a Penman Raider and Cairo. I love both hats. I have been in the music business for years and I use the Cairo all winter long on stage. I have had both for going on 5 years and they are holding up great. As was said, the sanded look wears off after a while, but that can be remedied. My next on...

adVintage Hats
Has anyone here had dealings with a site in Germany called adVintage Fedora's?
They have some nice hats on there but I have never dealt with them.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I look at each stain, and each mark as an individual scar of
use. It gives each and every piece it's own character.
They aren't unique until a person puts their own mark on
them. Until then they are sterile, rigid, and cold. Once they
begin to meld with their owner they grow warm and comfortable.

Thanks you guys.
David far exceeded my expectations in the whole process.
He even went so far as to expand some of his forms to accommodate my
huge head.
He is an artiste.

Re: NHD-David Garrison
I should mention that I gave David and a couple of other artists on this site a little challenge. I bought an Fed IV and it was way too small in the brim. So I asked David, et. al. to make the brim 3" front and back. I won't be able to post the pics til Tues. I am going out of town, but I LOVE ...

I am sitting here at my computer having accomplished an effort that began 30 years ago. From the moment I saw the Cairo scene in ROLA I jonesd for a hat such as that. I searched very earnestly for 10 years and I could not find one. Then I happened across the Fedora Lounge site and the guys over ther...

Re: Christies disappointment
Nope. I'm not a Les Paul man, myself. I prefer a Telecaster, but that's just my taste. But how's this back at you: I also own an original '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb (with the paperwork, even) and a '50s-early '60s Gretsch 6156 amp! http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4012/4334540779_ccdd8e87bb_m.jpg Just ...

If you could only have....
I am truly amazed at the large quantity of excellent designers that are producing such quality workmanship. So I guess I was thinking about a note I got in which the person said, "I'll bet you a red nickel this will not be your last hat!" So, if you could only have one hat which one would ...

Re: Deborah Nadoolman: Raiders Hat Had Chin Strap???
I admit it, until I came to this site I had not heard of the "Turn".
Can someone please explain what this is about and maybe
direct me to some pictures where I can see the difference
between turn or not turn.
Thanks

Ordering from Adventurebilt Need Input
Hi y'all. Noobie here. In 1981 I happened to have a night free and went to the theater to kill some time. I saw a placard about a movie called "Raiders.... I thought that it looked interesting and went in to the theater. 10 minutes into the film I was hooked. Saw it 25 times that summer. I thou...
