If you're planning on getting the Savile Row specs anyway, you can order clip-on sunglasses to fit them. Here are mine:

Savile Row glasses, Raiders style. Pictures, please!

The model you are looking for is the Berkshire Chase Savile Row. You can order them from framesdirect.com but I would recommend going through a local optician so you can be properly fit.

Dye for 405s?

These 405s are over eight years old. I used some brown shoe polish on them a couple of times several years ago and I give them a dose of Pecard's a couple of times a year. Sometimes I wear them to the office and sometimes I wear them out in the woods. If you take care of them, they'll take care of y...

The top picture shows the Savile Row frame with 49mm lens in chestnut. The bottom shows a frame by Francois Pinton ( which I prefer) that is offered by Ben Silver out of Charleston.

New Wested custom Raiders

Back in 2002 I bought a Wested Raiders jacket in distressed cowhide which has served me well, lo these many years. When the weather recently turned cooler I decided it was time to break it out again but it was nowhere to be found! I suspected that its disappearance was somehow linked to my wife's pe...

I recently bought a pair. I got them in the Blonde rather than the Chestnut color (looks better with my complexion, I think). I'm very satisfied with them.

I had mine stitched for about 3/4" along the stitching medial to the top 3 hooks. The stitching is hidden in the stitching already there. Works great!

Well, I got my Aldens back from the Shoe Hospital so I don't have to live with it........it's fixed! He stitched the tongue, hiding the stitches along the stitching just inside of the hooks. The cost? $6.50.

I've been having this same problem with my Alden's. The fit feels just fine but both tongues tend to migrate toward the lateral aspect after walking (the right one does it quicker than the left). I tried some Dr. Scholl's gel insoles (which feel great by the way) but they really didn't stop the wand...

I've always heard that using a dressing like Pecard's on suede or nubuck will "seal the nap" so that it loses its original texture. But I've never tried it. Be careful!!
