Re: In the spirit of adventure...

Did anybody see that Zahi Hawass allegedly launched his own line of 'adventure' clothing? I say 'allegedly' because I came across this when a former Egyptology student of mine 'Tweeted' it, and we've yet to determine if it's a really inspired parody or the real deal. A bunch of us have been left cur...

Re: Caught short I got ...a custom Dorfman??? From Todd's???

So...finally! to those that were curious about what job it was I was going for, check out the 'Legend Quest' thread at Lao Che's Table... No, I didn't get it (I'm not that Scottish guy, though I tested alongside him) ...and I'm a little relieved, now that I've seen the feedback on here! ;) http://ww...

Re: Caught short I got ...a custom Dorfman??? From Todd's???

Beware the Aliens in the trunk of your car, Fox. Aliens? Illegal or Crystal Skull variety? :Plymouth: Thanks all! Glad you like the hat. It's gone from the hard 'cardy' feel that you get at first to lovely and soft too. Bonus! Next time I'm in Cali I may have to pop in to get my Akubra reshaped too...

Great idea!

We could both wear them!

Or were you talking about the fake eyes?

That just made my morning. I'm so saving that picture.

Thanks guys!

And, not being intentionally mysterious here, but as soon as I'm allowed to talk about the job I went for, I will.

Cheers!

Caught short I got ...a custom Dorfman??? From Todd's???

ok, I know what you guys are gonna say about getting a Dorfman  , so here's the context: I'm in the California, I'm heading to an interview for something and one day before I'm due in LA I'm told by the potential employer that I need a hat. An adventurer hat. And here's me having left my Fed I...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread

Thanks to those who commented on my sweet Todd's standard...aligned seams or no! ;) I love the look and fit of this jacket so the SA issue is...not an issue! Also, as many have observed, the leather is so darn good I'm wearing this in all weather, just cos it's so comfortable. I must say though, a h...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread

A visit to Todd's! Greetings all! Finally got some time after landing back in sunny London to write about my trip to Todd's. Whilst out in Cali for some work commitments I decided to drive out of LA and head to Pine Mountain Club, Frazier Park and try me on some leather jackets! I tried on three and...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread

Trust me dude, you don't have to baby it. Lamb is a lot tougher than it feels, and the stitching should hold just fine, my last one did, and stayed so fresh it was still practically 'new' when I passed it on. I did get a jacket! Had a great visit (technically two, I'm back at Pine Mountain now!) Tod...

Re: Todd's Jacket Owner's Thread

Great jacket, bdgsi! It seemed only right to post today, seeing that I'm in a hotel opposite Todd's costumes, waiting for the man himself to open up shop (and hoping he does!). :CR: Came out to cali last minute for work and had to drive from LA to san fran so I thought why not make a stop here and t...

Re: Todd's Standard question

But as mentioned in several other posts around here...make sure you get the right size, buddy! Todd's run about a size smaller than expected, in my experience. I'm 5'10, 175 pounds and a 42" chest. I figured that would put me in the 'medium' category. Todds Medium is tight as all heck on me. I ...

Wow sorry for the major delay in reply there. I've been seriously busy with my PhD, summer getaways with my gf and *ahem* newest games console... Re: One Newbie and his Todd's go to WESTED!

Thanks for the kind words, guys, appreciated! I was lucky with the fit, really. I tried a bunch of 40R, 42, even a 38 (way too small), but none fit as well as the very first one. It seems the washed goat is a little softer and baggier than the regular (worth bearing in mind those wanting a washed......

One Newbie and his Todd's go to WESTED!

So I decided that despite the horrendous bills to fix my suspension it was time to visit Wested. After all, I'd paid to fix the durn car so I might as well use it! So Saturday we jumped on the motorway and took a drive to the Kent countryside, were we found the famous, and surprisingly unassuming, W...

Re: Wested's "worn look hide" looks like?...

The only distressed hide I saw at Wested this Saturday gone was the pre-distressed cowhide. It had the same 'orangey' tint as the one in photos above. Too light for my tastes, but a good looking jacket.

I have no objection to you posting them on here Basil. At least until we have an 'official' Todd's display thread...maybe we should just start one! :-k Actually I've been meaning to post pics of the jacket after some wear. It's stretched out a full two inches now (not including that pleat opening). ...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

Thanks for taking time to check it out Indy 35, I agree with you on that centre dent actually. ToD was the first Indy movie I saw on the big screen, so maybe it's a subconscious leaning towards the shorter more tapered crown (blasphemy, I know  ). And like you said, you gotta wear what suit...

Re: The Federation IV Display Page

Hey guys, got my Fed IV standard through the post today. Being the impulsive type I went ahead and bashed straight out of the box, with no experience, practice or pictures to guide me. 'Makin' it up as I go...' I did, however, then go dig out some pics from the Cairo scenes and used those as I tweak...

Ha! To be honest, had I been on the boards when I got it I may have gone straight for a Wested! Thanks for the kind words, everybody! The jacket is really settling in now, the leather has warmed up and stretched up nicely. Re: Todd's Sizing

Hi there, as I mentioned in my intro thread, I found Todd's much smaller than expected. As a 5'10" 170 lb guy I usually wear a medium, which I find snug (even a little tight) but I prefer this to baggy styles. Thing is, because of my weight training regimen I have pretty big shoulders, and the ...
