The mud gets stuck in the low areas of the vibram type tread. Unless you take a stick and pick it out piece by piece, you can't easily clean it out before you go inside if the mud is still wet. I used to let it dry and then the next time I put them on, I would go outside and walk around in them or ...

Smooth soles are a nightmare for me. I don't need a truck tire on the bottom, but something with a bit of grip. Exactly...a nice low profile tread. Sort of like an all weather tire. Not the best for digging through the muck or snow...not the best for racing on a track but they are the best "al...

Have you ever tried cleaning off your boots before going inside? ;-)

Custom or not, I can use the extra couple hundred dollars on something else. They're just shoes and at that price I can use them till they die or not feel so bad if I really don't wear them so much. I wish any Indy boot had the choice of a decent tread. I contacted Todd regarding just this. Not fea...

Yes, indeed. But comparing the Todd's vs. Magnoli's by price alone is a bit like comparing apples to oranges because of that factor. I'd still be interested in how Todd's shoes hold up, etc. ;-) I agree but the price alone is enough to pull someone with limited funds over to Todd. As more people bu...

Keep in mind with the magnoli boots: All Magnoli Clothiers shoes and boots are custom made to order, tailored around not only the size, but the shape of your foot, giving you the perfect fit everytime. The difference is that you are paying for a custom boot and not an off-the-rack boot. It's like t...

No offense to Mr. Magnoli but I'll pay $74.95 over $330 any day.

What I would like to see is a no-nonsense review of the two boots. Materials, durability, scree accuracy (for those interested), construction methods, etc. That would be a good read.

I don't know if I would buy an AB Deluxe. If money were no object, I would stick to the "regular" AB...made by The Man who started the company and who was the go-to guy when deciding on a hatter for KotCS. Besides, they are made in the good ol' U.S. of A and that means a lot to me.

I got an unissued "mint" bag from Endicotts as well. That bag not only looks good and acts functional...it is also one tough SOB!

Todd...any chance on getting these boots with a slight tread (good for hiking and real-world adventuring)? Maybe something with a low profile Vibram sole? If so, I am on board! I had a pair of old Merrell boots that had the Indy look and color and your boots (if offered with the above mentioned sole...

I have heard tell of a cotton Wested. Try that. Why would one want to wear a leather jacket in warmer weather? It seems to be a little extreme to go this way just to copy a look.
