It's simple: I wanted a jacket that looked like the one Indiana Jones wore. The jacket I received did not. It looked new and shiny. So what did I do? The same thing they do to distress clothing and props in movies, and now I have a jacket that looks like it could have been stole off of Indy's back. ...

J!M, The lambskin has held up amazingly! It's a great lightweight jacket, and since I live in Central Texas it's perfect for the mild winters we have here. Absolutely the most comfortable jacket I've ever owned. In fact, a couple of years ago I bought a black leather jacket at Men's Warehouse (I fel...

My first Indy jacket was a pre-distressed cowhide Wested. I bought the pre-distressed because I wanted the jacket to look worn and broken in without having to age it myself. But after wearing it a few times I couldn't help myself and I ordered a lambskin jacket. When I first got it I said it would b...

I agree, Louisiana, the jacket did look new. I guess that's what surprised me about it. Pre-distressing looks like pre-distressing, not wear and tear, so it makes the jacket in CS look more like a costume jacket than one that's actually been on adventures. The hat in the movie looks fantastic thanks...

Don't get me wrong, it's a great jacket, but I just prefer the look and feel of my lambskin better. The pre-distressed is a bit heavy and doesn't drape as well as the lambskin. Both were bought within a couple of months of each other and have the same specs, but the lambskin just fits and moves bett...

Crystal Skull Jacket and Wested Pre-distressed

After seeing "Crystal Skull" I'm back in Indiana Jones mode and thought I'd come check out what's new here at Club Obi-Wan. (It's been a long time since I've been here). Really love the new look of IndyGear and all the new information. Anyway, when I saw "Crystal Skull" I was a b...

Great work, Fedora! This has been very exciting to me since I've been out of the loop a while. Time is the key, because true progress is made in small steps, not hurdles. Time, for alot of us, will help with our money situations, too. I for one, am anxious to see where this is headed, but am willing...

I have 2 Westeds, but from what I've heard here on the forum, you should go with the jacket that seems like the right choice to you. I love my Westeds, but in my search for extreme accuracy, I almost want to order another and have it customized even more. But then, would it be an accurate Indy jacke...

Pocket flaps

I recently looked at the Wested website for the first time in a long time, and noticed pictures of what was labeled "Scultured Pocket Flap" (I assume that a misspelling of sculptured) and what I think said "Revised Pocket". Are these two different things? What comes standard when...

New Authentic Lambskin

I noticed Wested is now making jackets in what they call "New Authentic Lambskin" that's supposed to be closer to what was used for the films. Anyone have one or some imput on this?

I'm costantly closer to ordering my next jacket and want it to be just right.

It's good to be back. I've had a lot going on the past year and kinda side lined IndyGear for a time, but I'm back now in full swing. I was watching ToD on DVD last night and paid close attention to the straps. And the buckles were black rectangular slides. I don't know haw this holds for Raiders or...

Thanks guys. I've thought about having the straps on my jacket shortened, too.

Anyone have any pictures?

side straps

I have two Wested Raiders Jackets that I bought back in 2001 and love everything about them... well except for one small thing: One is a pre-destressed jacket, the other a new lambskin that I personally destressed that looks great, but the side straps on both jackets bug me. They seem really long, a...
