Re: Drop orders

I seldom post these days but I thought I should affirm Jeanfifi's comments on the drop strands issue. I don't think I have seen a more concise and exact posting of this particular issue before with comments about the philosophy of plaiting whips in general thrown in for good measure. There is an ord...

Remember David...on his recovery from a broken hip

I haven't seen the the news posted before so I guess it may not be widely known that David Morgan had a fall about six weeks ago and broke his hip. He seems to be doing o.k, he has a few nails and screws holding him together but he is getting around with the aid of stick and hopes to get rid of that...

short handled bullwhip

Here is a short handled bullwhip Terry made recently. I thought it was a little unusual considering the handle length he usually uses. I don't think I have a photo of a bullwhip of his with handle length less than 10 inches. The info on it says 8 ft. 12 plait with 7 inch handle. I just thought it wa...

California getting with it?

Hello Guys I hear the wise rulers of California are voting soon on whether or not to allow kangaroo products to be sold legaly in their fair state. I hope the decision gives the go ahead for this idea, I think it would calm the nerves of the whip traders who have been selling into the state regardle...

movie whips

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j74/mrrymen2/image-1.jpg For the movie fans. I found this photo when checking the album recently. These are the whips Terry Jacka supplied for the Rundown movie some time back. I remember talking to him about that time about these and he didn't have anything good t...

With your plaiting for the last 2 ft, how tight the plaiting ends up also depends on how wide your strands are in relation to the core. If you have wide strands and a small core, the plaiting will end up loose no matter how tight you pull. The trick is to experiment with the width of the strands, a...

What whip is that?

Hello guys I have a whip idenification question here, maybe someone will recognize the style or plaiting on this stockwhip in for repair. The swelling on the handle grip reminds me of a Nemith or a Peter Clark, both whipmakers from Aust. The thong plaiting seems to be the standard herringbone though...

Of interest to a few

Here is the photo I said I would post of the old Tom Hill stockwhip. Considering Tom stopped making whips about 1975, this makes it at least thirty years old. There are a few typical traits on Tom's twelve plait handles, one is the five part four bight doubled turks head and the short piece of doubl...

PostPosted: Wed May 24, 2006 11:35 pm Post subject: Welcome To Club Obi Wan. Those are great looking whips. I agree with Dan and Adam, I use a lot of Terrys whips too and they do look a lot like his extended handled bullwhips. Where did you get them? Dan Thanks for the welcome Guys. I know most of ...

New Member

Pardon me boys and girls. I just wanted to try posting photos and the rules say if I don't post anything I will be taken off the member list. So, being a virgin poster I thought I would have a go with a photo first off. If this doesn't work then I will probably stick to typing. regards Littlejohn ht...
