Re: Webley Mk VI

Light .45ACP reloads are a breeze to do. Just look at the .45 AutoRim loads - some start in the 600-650fps range. These should be fine. I shoot an Enfield MkVI with a cut cylinder. With 3.7 to 4.0gr W231 and 250gr LRN bullets, recoil is negligable, accuarcy is acceptable, and the fun factor is 100%....

You are doing well for someone who "knows nothing of firearms". :-)

Take a look at this:

Re: webley holster

The metal peg holds the holster at an angle (and in place) on the belt. Look at these: http://www.zoominternet.net/~beastmen/IMG_4148a.JPG http://www.zoominternet.net/~beastmen/IMG_4146.JPG http://www.zoominternet.net/~beastmen/IMG_4147.JPG Is it made by weightman bros 1915 ?...also do you know what...

Roger Moore appears to be holding a S&W K frame 4in barreled fixed sight revolver.

Judging from the shape of the front sight and also the shape of the wood on the grip, my best guess is that it's probably a Model 10.

It clearly isn't any of the Indy revolvers.

As far as the 1917 I saw to today the ejector was not shrouded, this pistol looked like a 1917 but minus the US army. And now that I think of it I don't remeber a S&W symbol. That may have been a 'Model 1917 Colt'...officially known as the M1917 Colt New Service in it's military guise. Scroll d...

Lee dies can be purchased from Midway USA. You will also need to purchase a shell holder that will fit your press. The shellholder is available from Lee [no.5] and RCBS [no.38]. The RCBS shellholders work in Lyman presses as well. Order numbers and cost for Lee dies and a RCBS shelholder from Midway...

Your Model 10 doesn't look parkerized. Looks a bit faded in areas (holster wear?) but really appears to be in good shape. Parkerized finishes are often grey in color...and are matte finish. You can easily mark it with a finger nail. There are matte blue finishes as well, but again yours doesn;t have...

This is quite an odd duck, in so far as it is an AOW classed weapon - "Any Other Weapon" and requires a license stamp. Any smoothbore pistol is a "sawed off" shotgun.

The S&W Model 10 is a wondefrul revolver - one of my favorite to shoot. Did you get a 4 or 6 inch barrel?

Some thing didn't look quite right about that "1903 Springfield". I believe it is actually a Paris & Dunn Training Rifle. The clues are the slab sided stock, the completely flat butt of the stock, and the area above the bolt handle is less prounced as well than on a real 1903. The more...

There is another reason to select a 4-inch barreled revolver - at least for US police officers for many, many years. A 4-inch revolver 'rides' better when in a hip holster and when seated in a vehicle. I think the *real* reason that it is 4 inches has already been stated: it was on hand or the armor...

Not all that many years ago real Colt Police Positives were going for under $100.00 US.
