I have a pair of 405s that are about 4 or 5 years old now. I have worn them nearly everyday. Believe me when I say they are looking quite SA. In that time, I have worn them in the rain, in the snow, hiking in the Sierra Nevadas for several days, hiking around Dizzyland for hours on end, taken them u...

I have a dark brown temple and it doesn't look black to anyone who's ever seen it.

If you can swing it, get one. You'll be happy. I personally like how the darker color looks better.

Two Westeds is better than one!

Did the blackberry bushes have thorns or anything in them to snag the stitches? Even then, I would call whichever shop you bought them from and let them know. If my pair are any indicator, they should be much tougher than that. I have worn mine practically everyday to work, and mowed the lawn in the...

It took them 3 days to get back to me after I placed my order. Just be patient. See how nutso you start feeling when you're ticking off the days on the calendar waiting for the jacket to show up!

I would agree that you shouldn't simply just cut it off and toss it. Beyond being a piece of gear, the MK VII is a piece of history. I mean, really, as cool as the Indy movies are, they are fictional and the product of someone's imagination. Us collecting them is just a hobby. The war was real, if y...

If you're going to get custom work done and it won't be returnable, definitely get yourself measured. Print out a copy of Wested's order form and take it with you to a tailor and fill in the blanks with them. I did this, and my jacket (lamb, dark brown, ToD) fits perfectly. If you're shy or otherwis...

I spoke with Allen White at the aldenshop in SF, and he advised me to order my as-measured size. Granted I have duck feet and require a 3E, but when the boots arrived, they fit perfectly. They required no break in and still fit exactly right even now several months later. I would recommend calling o...

I started putting brown Pecards on my 405's about a week after I started wearing them daily. Still wear them daily, BTW, and they still feel and are holding up great. I didn't like the red brick color they were and they are now a very nice brown (about 9 months now, with Pecards every 2 weeks). I fo...
