I always thought they were oxblood. To me it would make totally sense, since the style of Indiana Jones in the movies is more on the practical side and oxblood works simply with every color!

If you want to find good pants for a steal, than search for chinos on ebay!

I just found a pair with double pleats and nice pocket flaps in an accurate colour.

I paid about 3$!!!

I have to agree with you, fedora, about the dimensionel cut. I think it was more common from the late 20s to mid 30s. My vintage close enough Indy hat has a pretty extreme dimensional cut and not a wide brim. You really need to get used to that after wearing a wide brimmed Federation! :wink: Regards...

Not bad, but not quite era accurate. If you bash the front pinch more tight and turn the back of the crown a bit it would look perfect! I only do a four-in-hand or a half windsor, because I like the knot to be a small as possible!


If you look closely you can see that Indy undouptly wears a windsor on all of his ties!

Nice work! The colour looks pretty accurate.

I've done the same thing a year ago and the total coast of one shirt was 6$. As it was a regular dress shirt I also had to make pockets. I think it's a great and cheap(!) way to reproduce Indy shirts :clap: :tup:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you cannot always be sure what felt a vintage hat was made of if it's not said in the lining or sweatband. A lot of of hats back then were blends so I think you simply have compare the hats with others of which you know which kind of felt was used for them. Regar...

If you consider making the bootleg shorter, than you should take them to your local shoemaker.

That's what I just did with a pair of cap toe riding boots to let them be trimmed to Alden lenght, so they'll look more like 1930s dress boots.

Maybe, but I'd much more like to buy the fabric, because I'm going to make some casual ties based on the shape of a broken 1930s tie I got on ebay.

Today I even found a sewing machine in our basement. :)

You're right, Platon! That's my main reason, but I also like the color of the Wested pants best. I just had a look at what the local fabric shop offered and there was absolutly nothing I liked.
