Sounds great Snakewhip and Rick! I've done some, how shall we say, "urban spelunking" of my own, and boy, its always an interesting adventure. This is a one of the only pictures that was taken the other day before the camera died on us. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h296/Indiana_James/...

Whats the most extreme thing your hat has been through?

As I came back from an 8 mile canyoneering trip through a local river, I did the usual routine with my trusty Adventurebilt. I took a damp washcloth and wiped it all down (counterclockwise, naturally). I put in its hat stretcher and gave it a look over. My hat has been through a lot to say the least...

I seem to have to travel by plane quite a lot now, and at first I just wore it the whole way where it should be... on my noggin. But, a few trans-Atlantic flights later, I grew pretty wearisome of this. I thought about the best way to pack it, and although I'm positive my AB Deluxe could take a good...

Or you could light it on fire.

Not kidding.

I haven't done it to my AB, as I have a weak stomach. But on one of my lesser fedoras I have sprayed on some rubbing alcohol and lit that sucker up. Did the trick as that particular hat was getting a bit fuzzy.

Source of Letaps?

Hey all, I'm gonna be over in London for a while this summer, and I wonder if anybody knows of a place I can buy some Letaps there. I was lucky enough to get a can of it from Peter a couple of years ago as a gift when I bought a jacket, but that has long since been used up. Any help is greatly appre...

Hey man, about the sweatband shrinking, the same thing happened with mine (and I believe all real leather sweatbands) So Steve recommended that I buy a hat stretcher. It fits inside your hat and you turn a threaded portion of it to expand the circumference of the sweatband. This returned mine to its...

Hey Buff, thats a good idea. Two last questions (i hope). Okay, in the various pictures that I have seen so far of the two hats, it seems that the original AB holds a better brim. I dont remember exactly, but I do believe there is a contraption that fits over one's head, and it actually takes an impression. I think someone mentioned that there was one in use at the hatters across the street from the HJ shop in London. Does anyone know more about this?

I got a quick edit here. As far as the hat hurting me goes, it was more just being uncomfortable than pain. The stiches were pretty bulky therefore pressing into my forehead.
