Re: raiders fedora was a spare

the hat that all you raiders fans come to know and love was indy's spare hat... he didn't care about it. Hmm, this reminds me of something I read somewhere... (reaches for "Raiders of the Lost Ark" novelisation by Cambell Black). Here it is. On page 180 when Indy is remonstrating with Col...

Nope, a little water doesn't hurt the Akubras. They're made to be worn outdoors and take abuse! That's what I love about them; they've got dress hat looks with outback work hat toughness. I read a quote somewhere that Ian Fleming's concept of James Bond was that he was the kind of guy who wore suit...

Can anyone tell me if the Fed Deluxe has a white linner in the hat? I bought a Fed Deluxe recently and yes, it has a white liner. The Deluxe felt is softer, more pliable. Also the leather sweatband in the Deluxe is better quality. I already have two Fed Regulars (a brown and a grey) and they are gr...

Russ, you are an inspiration! I recently reblocked my trusty Akubra Fed for the third time. I got the crown height and bash just right (Raiders style). But over the week as I wore it to and from work, something was bugging me about it . Then I saw your pic. THE BRIM! It was THE brim for me! So...

Yes, welcome to the club! (Hey, maybe there's enough of us now to convert the whole world back to wearing felt hats! Cue maniacal laughter...) Enjoy wearing your fedora. Keeps your noggin' dry in the rain, warm in the winter, and cool in the summer, and looks mighty fine into the bargain. Regards, E...

You can go with the Akubra Federation... great hats for an awesome price. Word is that they're blocking them diffrent so that they have taller crowns and a more pronounced block I have a size 60 Federation Deluxe arriving any day soon. I'll compare it to my stock grey size 59 regular Federation and...

A Quick Hello

The only thing is: Ears. I no longer wear my fed in the winter if it's windy, not because it'll blow away but because the windchill literally freezes my ears off. Unless you get some ear covers, i'd not reccomend it, especially in Calgary (the windchill there can be REALLY bad)! However, there are ...

A Quick Hello

Hi everyone! Just a quick 'hello'. I joined COW last year, but have been rather busy moving from the UK to Canada (hi to all my fellow Canadians!) and never got round to introducing myself. I have two Akubra Feds - a well-worn brown one and a "for best" grey one. I've reblocked the brown f...
