Aldens Alternative (less than $100)

Okay, so there is no mocasin toe, but this looked real close for under $100.
The first 2529 @ $96.99 seems to have a thicker sole than the other, and the color is chestnut, not brown. The second 2029 $86.99 is a truer brown, with a thinner sole. This is part of the ATV collection. ATV meaning all terrain vehicles for your feet. Someone mentioned a while back looking for a different sole on the alden's, this could be a good alternative.
2529 $96.99
All the best,
Ky

So, who sells these boots? Which website did you find them on?
They look like nice substitutes to me.

Sorry about that fellas! My fault!
I was just perusing one of their catalogues to order steel toed safety shoes and saw them and took a double take. Especially the price on the brown. The more expensive pair seem to have more tread on em.
Maybe this will become a new close enough standard...the price is right at any rate.
Oh, and Ky Blues, if there is a _ Shoe store close to you I believe they may be able to set you up in person. This is where the catalogue was procured I believe.

Very good find - they are very 405-esque - even down to the speed lacers. Well done!

I was wondering if anyone has purchased these shoes? I got some discouraging results after doing a web search on Knapp. Some former customers on the web have said that Knapp has sold out and that their current shoes are just made in China junk. I hope this isn't true. If anyone has purchased these shoes, please let us know what you think of them and are they USA made?

I bought a pair, and I'm completely satisfied withthem
I got the darker brown farm boot. I ordered on a monday, and realised that very next friday, when they arrived, that I ordered a half size too big. I sent them back on Saturday, and got a new pair in a longer time frame (the returns place is farther away than the original place). I believe I may be pretty close to the original place, so that would explain why I got my boots so fast. my only beef with them is that the sole, while somewhat thin compared to most modern boots, is also a little wide, protruding a noticeable bit out from the sides. However, I'm probably just picky, as my last "indy" boots were kinda old (got them from a military store) and so didn't have protruding soles, and they were actually stitched on, which means the soul could be replaced most likely. The old boots were my favorite, but are too worn out and so I was forced to retire them for the most part. The only thing I know of that can really match up to my old ones, would be Aldens, but the farm boot is close enough for my budget
High Regards, A satisfied Daryl.
