New Boot Prospect

We all know that Aldens are the bomb and I would love to own a pair. I just haven't been able to bring myself to fork over that kind of dough for them.
So I decided to try to find an alternative. I don't want "close-enoughs". I want something that resembles the Aldens so closely that you (meaning us gearheads) can't tell the difference by looking at them.
The J.C crews are real close. I just about ordered a pair last week until it dawned on me to try a source that I have used in the past.
For those that don't know, I am also a Star Wars geek and I have trooper armor. Not the in-accurate stuff mind you, i'm talking about the movie accurate pulled from an original suit stuff here!

Anyway, there is a great company called Champion Attitude boots that not only carry trooper boots, but many other movie style boots too. Guess what? They didn't have an Indy boot. That may change soon.
I have been in touch with the higher ups and finally, I believe I have convinced them to go ahead with this. I have been working pretty closely with them to get the specs right but to eliminate a couple of internal features that I think will keep the cost down. I made it pretty clear to them that if they can't beat the JC price, that it wouldn't be worth their while to make them.

Fast forward to now. I received an email the other day letting me know that they are moving forward with making up samples and that I will be contacted when they are ready.

Just wanted to share this potential great news and will share more here as soon as I know.

Very cool! Although I'll always be willing to save up for another pair of Aldens, it's good to know that a more acurate and less expensive option may soon be available for those short on the cash! Keep us posted and show some pics when you get the samples!

Hey Bow :D : Great work! It's super that your connection with this company can pull some weight. I too would love a pair of Aldens but feeding the kids tends to take priority. If it wasn't for scooping the recent J Crew boots, I'd still be Sans Pied Covers eh. Actually, I bought the lighter colour boots and am about to change that soon. the leather is more like a suede and should take a darker polish quite well. I hope  .

Please keep us up to date

Warm Regards

This is encouraging. I love when a new vendor comes on board. I would certainly love to see these. I wonder, will they come distressed, or pre-distressed? (Mostly a rhetorical question...)

I knew it would happen eventually! Good work in getting the project going....
My only advice, is make sure they get the color right, or it will turn some folks off...!

best regards

I love how this hobby just continues to expand and expand. '04 has been a banner year for gear: Wested shirt, pants, and horsehide; WPG bag; Replix HJs; bowjunkie35's prop revolver (coming soon I hope) and now a replica low-cost shoe to-boot (argh pun  )! Kudos Bowjunkie35

I can't wait to see it either. Sounds exciting to have yet another alternative available as long as it's brown!

 Yeah, the prop revolver will be coming VERY soon! I just have to get through my "must have by HAlloween" orders and then it will be a go. Ready well before Christmas.

Don't forget about my Gunbelt and Adjustable Whip Holder, and soon the Raiders Bagstrap and buckle (hehe)! I couldn't resist the plug, sorry.

Of course, how could I forget! By the way they really do look great TJ, I'm using a homemade gunbelt right now but hopefully I'll be able to get one of yours in the future.
