Hi guys, saw this in portobello road street market in london last weekend on a WW1 militaria stall and thought it would do the part...I know it probably isn't very accurate, but if anyone knows more about its history I'd be interested to know!

The leather's in pretty good condition, they had a better condition one and a worse one, but I liked this distressed-type look that this one had!

It's an old .45 Webley Holster from WWI. I have on eexactly like it that I picked up off of an undisclosed auction site. The screen accurate Raiders holster is cut for a 4" barrel, not a 6" barrel which is what the old .45 Webleys carried, but other than that this is basically the "big brother" holster of the Raiders holster. It has the same flap type opening and the plug on the bottom. Very nice acquisition!
PS - Those of you more experienced members feel free to elaborate or correct anything I left out/got wrong.

I really have to get to Portobello Market. One post talks of MK VII bags, this one shows this incredible holster. What's next: an original Raiders Jacket with Harrison Ford's name in it?
That is a beautiful holster. Congratulations.

Excellent find, other Blues
I really like it, wish I had one. I'm attracted to the simplicity in it.
Regards,
Daryl.

Yeah Blues, that is one heck of a killer holster you found there.
Close enough for me, if not exact. I think it's perfect. Congrats.

Woo, so not far off then! They had two more on the stall, one was in better condition and was £20 (probably about $36), mine was £15....thinking about it the other one they had was an old beaten-up one that I think had a shorter barrel, which I think was £10....hmmmm....might take another trip.....
...if anyone's in the london area it was the militaria stall on the opposite side of the street to the Red Lion Antiques centre (near the HSBC bank)...I kept my eye open for MK VIIs but this stall seemed to be WWI only

So did I, and it's even prettier in real life.
Have you figured out what those loops on the side are yet?

Those "loops" are for a cleaning rod. It would look like a fat, iron stick with a ring at one end (for your finger) and a needle eye at the other (for threading a cleaning cloth through.) You'd use this to clean out the barrel and cylinders. I have a 1895 Russian Nagant revolver with a flap hoster that has the same thing, except that it still has the cleaning rod.
