I just wanted say that I shipped an Indy 'on-a-budget' bullwhip to Jerry Rasmussen today and I paid enough in shipping to make sure that he has it in time to take it to the WE event in Dallas this weekend.
For those of you in the area, you can check it out first hand. Jerry will have the whip for sale.
I'm hoping that once a few people see it and crack it that I'll get a few more orders for them.
Sincerely,
Adam Winrich,

I'm looking forward to mine! This finally gives me the chance to try whipcracking to see if it's for me. It may take a short while after I get it until I have the chance to really try it out, but I'll happily give my review of the whip from the "I've never owned or tried a whip before" perspective.

I managed to get my 12 foot swivel-handle (only whip I've owned so far) to crack using the instructions from this site. Hopefully I can try out some other cracks on the 8 ft. one thats on its way!

Thanks!!! I was going to start digging around to see if I could find some good basic whip instruction (short of buying a DVD or meeting up with people yet) and this just may do the trick!

Haha. My brown budget is in the mail now! Although with shipping just under $40, it really wasn't a buget whip anymore...but it's nice to get a real leather whip.
I was looking into nylons as well. I was thining of getting a nylon from Rhett.

I cracked this whip today at our local Whip Enthusiast meeting and have to say it's not only a hearty whip, but boy does it crack! It really packs some punch. If you are on a budget and need a whip for your Indy costume and want a whip that cracks (not those puny ebay kind that fall apart), then you definitely need to get this whip. I was highly impressed. It was probably the loudest whip I've ever cracked...no joke. If I wasn't saving up for my California trip next month, I might have considered getting it.
Adam, thanks for shipping it to Jerry so we could check it out at Whip Weekend. Jerry, did Sebastian give it a whirl? If so, what did he say? Indiana Mikey cracked it too...hopefully he'll chime in here soon.
Adam, I cracked Mikey's big handled 9 footer...whoa is that thing a man's whip...would make for a good workout I'm sure.

Yeah, same! I'm itching with anticipation. I just got my todd whipholder, too. Urgh...maybe watching Star Wars on DVD a few more times will hold me until the whip arrives...

Indy OSS Bullwhip report

Adam, and Indy Gear fans wherever you may be.
Took the Indy OSS whip to the Whip Enthusiasts V competitions this past weekend. There were about 35 - 40 whipcrackers and 5 or 6 whipmakers in attendance, and most of them had a go at the whip.
Comments were very positive. Everyone that looked at it was kinda skeptical when they saw that it was a 4 plait whip. Then they picked it up, felt the weight - (Some would like it a little lighter) And their expresion really changed once they took it out and tried a couple of "whoosh-bangs" with it and that thing went off like a cannon!
It is well made, and looks good too. For those on a tight budget looking for their first whip, I'd recommend these whips in a heartbeat. They are beaters - you can put this one through all kinds of rough treatment and it'll be there looking for more.
And as far as the price, I heard many say that it was worth far more than the price Adam is charging for it. So, if'n you want one of these whips you better order it quick because I'm going to tell Adam what the price range was that these folks were saying.
It was good to see all the folks that came out. Next year, if you are in the area, come on out. Your skill level is of no concern to the Whip Enthusiasts. There were folks out there of all skill levels - from the raw beginner who picked up their first whip this past weekend to seasoned veterans who are more than happy to share their knowledge. So start planning on WE VI next October in Dallas. It will be a blast. And for you folks that want the "Big whips" they even have contests with the 25 footers. Target cutting with that beast is a real trick let me tell you. The speed and accuracy contest about killed me - had to change hands half way through to take a breather and let the left hand recoup. See you next year.

Wow, Jerry! That's encouraging! I'm increasingly glad that I ordered one of these whips! If it takes a good lickin' then it definitely is the whip for me to learn on. And if other whip makers are positively surprised at this whip, then it reinforces that I made a good buy. Adam got my payment today, so now I just have to wait for it to get here! WOOHOO!!!!

Haha me too! I'm glad I picked one up so fast, otherwise the price plus shipping woulda burned a hole the size of the milky way in my wallet... I spent an hour cracking it today (procrastinating on the homework...) and wow it is a stress reliever... and yes it does indeed crack like a cannon. You can hear it echoing through buildings in the little courtyard/park I was in today. The grass part is usually empty, and the kids were on the jungle gym watching me.
