Color of the Chicago Screws

Post by Ghos7a55assin »

Remember that whole "chicago screws UK" fiasco a few days ago? Ok, so I have finally obtained a few nickel chicago screws to replace the one from WPG, but I was wondering if they are really that accurate?
I was watching a few scenes from the Streets of Cairo sequence and it seems like the button at the bottom of Indy's bag is reflecting gold. I'm not sure if it's the sunlight reflecting or if it is really brass. What are your opinions?
Also what color chicago screws come with the NH bag strap?

The screws on my Noel Howard strap are an antique brass colour. As for the original bags...I have no idea! I'm sure a screengrab or two can answer this question.

If someone could get a clear screenshot I would really like to know what style the chicago
screws are too. I have come across two distinct types thus far: 1. Has a round rivet style
head and rear and 2. Had a flat button style head and rear.

The button style look very cool, but I haven't seen these except for a very small, half
hexagonal, version on the older WPG bag straps.

Maybe he used/uses whatever colour is to hand?

Alternatively, as I bought this particular NH strap from another forumite some time ago perhaps the screws on mine had been changed before I got it?

I'm not sure how the strap is attached to the bag, but it looks like a rivet behind the buckle part to me:

My guess is that the strap was riveted in both ends. Yet, no one knows for sure until an original bag is brought out in the daylight I guess.

That asnwers my other question! I was wondering how many rivets attach the the buckle loop, and I guess the NH strap is accurate there with 1.
