Just ordered my Aldens

After thoroughly reading posts about the Indy Aldens, I finally decided that I should go ahead and order a pair. I've got back problems, and someone posted that they're othopedic shoes, so I'm hoping that the boots will benefit my back. Jeff at Renner boots told me that my size, 10EE are out of stock, but that Alden's factory should be spitting some out in about 6 weeks. That sure is a long time. I'll just have to keep posting and reading this site to keep busy I guess.

They are worth the wait, Moto! Just hang in there...

Be patient, Moto! Some waits can be upwards of 16 weeks! (Although they'd likely tell you if this is the case.) You'll love 'em! They really are incredible shoes once you break them in. Congrats on the purchase!

Oh yes they are nice, nice and comfy.
I've had mine now about three weeks and wear them every day to work and my feet never hurt.
One word of advice when you get them: take care of them. I polish them on Sunday nights, put a shine to em and I'm ready. They truly are awsome shoes.

DEFINITLY worth the wait - last year I picked up a pair from another Indy fan which date from 1989 and, while what you would call considerably broken in, I'm still wearing them. So your new boots should last you a looooong time.

For any of you out there with size 9.5 feet, I just found out that Aldens in that size are going to take about 10-12 weeks! I decided to go with the 10's (my real size, instead of going 1/2 size smaller). We'll see in 4 weeks if they fit.

IndianaMoto, trust me, it's worth the wait to get them in correct size the first go round. If they don't fit right, they can actually be very uncomfortable! (There's one member here who actually did some damage to his feet by having the wrong size, if I recall correctly.
) If they don't fit, then you have to send them back (if you can) and wait all the extra time to get the right fitting pair. Did you have your feet measured professionally before ordering? I can't stress the importance of that enough! Good luck with the ones you ordered, though!

Right you are Bink. If I had ordered Aldens in my regular shoe size, not only would they have been too big in length, they would have been too tight around my instep. I normally wear a 10D, but wear a 9 1/2EE in 405's. The 1/2 size smaller shoe is a good rule of thumb but the shoe width is also something that needs to be considered. I will always recommend getting your feet professionally measured before investing in Aldens to make sure the fit is right.

Indiana Jones wore them. You shouldn't have to say more.

Oh man, the situation sounds dire indeed. Next time she gives you guff ask her a simple question:
"Would you rather have me passed out in an alley in the ghetto with my pants down and wallet stolen, with my belt tightened around my upper arm and a syringe hanging out of the inner crease of my elbow, or have me sitting in the living room watching the Indiana Jones movies? The choice is yours mom. Choose wisely."
