A sizing question

As some of you may know, I don't yet have an authentic 'Indy' holster, but one I made myself, and one day, I would very much like to get an Indy holster but I have a bit of a problem.

I am of small build and as I am not a very big person, and I am concerned that if I buy a holster, it will be too big for me. I also am concerned that the gunbelt will also be too long.

I am just wondering if there is anyone out there who either makes holsters or knows of someone who would be able to make one to my specifications (whatever they may be). :?

Your help is appreciated.

If you can scare up one of Lee Kepplers holsters, it will fit you perfectly. The Webley holster will probably scrape below your knee (they're HUGE!), but the Raiders version covers a revolver that, though a stout frame, is a 4 inch barrel, and therefore shorter. Stick with a Raiders holster, and you'll be on target for your proportion. Regards. Michaelson

Well, my dear, you could always have a belt shortened to suit you, but if you plan on stuffing a full scale Indy revolver/prop in it, you'll want a full sized holster, else the gun won't fit. What I would recommend, though, is to go for a Raiders style holster as it is shorter than the Webley holster. Does that help?

Pay close attention to the fact that bink is an official 'scoundrel' here, so you can ignore his advice. Even though mine was essentially the same, use mine....overlook his. 8) Regards. Michaelson

Isn't it more of a Webley design, 148? If so, that would be pretty big on her, in my opinion. GREAT holster, no argument...we're talking proportion to Canyon's size. Regards. Michaelson

Isn't it true that Canyon is only 2'8"? In that case, we could get her a holster from an old G.I. Joe figure! Just kiddin' love.

ya, the holster I mentioned might be big ion her, but I'm 5'6 or something, and it's not to big on me at all! How tall r u canyon?

Either that, or todd is selling some over at toddscotumes.com!
They are pretty good to, and Todd and Anne are real nice people to deal with ( I got my WPG bag from 'em)

Todd's is a Raiders style holster. It comes in two versions. The deluxe model has colored edges and more attention to detail, whereas the standard is, for all intents and purposes, a basic flap holster.

Please observe that the 'basic' holster also lacks the barrel plug in order to reduce cost.

SJ, who also can see bink's avatar again and is perfectly content with this.

If you want a smaller Indy-Style holster, why not try one of the leather ones for the .38 Webley? Same great stylin', smaller holster.

The only ones I've ever seen were canvas. Did they even MAKE leather flap holsters for the Mk IV? Regards. Michaelson

You know, Michealson I thought I actually saw one online once and it surprised me. I believe they did make them, though they are a rare find compared to the Mk VI holsters.

I'd be willing to bet they were officer holsters then. One of those would be interesting to see. I'd bet an Enfield flap holster would work just as well, if one can be found. Regards. Michaelson

I'm a 5'8" big bone gal and the Webley holster even feels too big for me. Canyon, take everyone's advice and get a Raiders holster. Western Stage Props carries them too.

Canyon -

although the WSP/Keppler holster is a beaut, WSP are pretty harsh on overseas shipping costs (over $40 for one DVD!).
Todd charges considerably less for shipping.
On the other hand, maybe you'll want to wait for Mr. Noel Howard's holster... :-k

That's a good point! Or, Canyon, maybe someone over here could purchase the holster for you in the U.S. and then ship it to you after they get it. I would imagine that it would be a cheaper shipping method han getting it direct from the vendor, though I could be wrong. Just a thought, though.

Aww. I do believe that Bink is blushing! :P
Scoundrel eh? That reminds me of a certain part from Empire Strikes Back:

Han: Hey, Your Worship, I'm only trying to help.
Leia: Would you please stop calling me that?
Han: Sure, Leia.
Leia: Oh, you make it so difficult sometimes.
Han: I do, I really do. You could be a little nicer, though. Come on, admit it. Sometimes you think I'm allright.
Leia: Occasionally. Maybe...when you aren't acting like a scoundrel.
Han: Scoundrel? Scoundrel? I like the sound of that.
