Has anyone ever received their jacket from Wested and then had to send it back for alterations because it was too big?
I just received a dark brown goat jacket which is beautiful and fits well almost everywhere except that there is some excess material in the lower part of my chest above my abdomen. It kind of puffs out. I was hoping Peter might be able to make alterations on this without having to make a new jacket.
Has anyone ever requested an alteration like this? Is there anything I need to be mindful of when requesting this? Thanks for your time guys.

That sounds really strange. Does this occur when you stand up? Are you sure the "puffing out" is due to excess leather? Sounds more like a dodgy zipper seam might be the culprit... maybe?
Can't seem to remember reading about this problem before... puffy action pleats, yes, but not this...
You should drop Peter a mail and ask his opinion. Send him a pic, if possible.
It does not puff out a lot. When I have the jacket on, there is just some excess material in that particular area. There is no large bulge or anything, just little more material. I have broad shoulders but then I taper quite a bit to my waist.
I am wondering if it is also because of the stiffness of the goatskin.

It is? News to me. I agree with what has been said. Roll that puppy up when you're not wearing it...sit on it wadded up while watching tv....ball it up and toss it in your closet overnight...use Pecards jell on it ...you've got to get goatskin to break in, and once worn in to YOUR body shape and way of wearing, the puffiness will go away. The cowhide does the same thing, and it requires a breakin period to 'de-puff' as well. Regards. Michaelson
