My brass rings are, basically, black...

Just an observation FWIW... the rings on my new Wested are really dull and black... not brassy like the ones on the Wested site.

They're not a 'solid' black though... more like something that has a brass finish and it's rubbed off completely.

I like the look, but I just thought I'd mention it, because I thought the options were brass rings or black sliders... and I seem to have black rings!?!

Mine are black D-rings but have a slight shine to them.
My Wested is only a few months old.

Will you look at that... they're D-shaped! :)

That's what I got too. It was supposed to be black rectangular ones, but a mix-up lead to it it seems. I like them and have had no trouble with any slipping at all really.

Dear All,

Well I just checked my "brass" D-rings and they are losing their brass coating to show some dull metal... it's about 9 months old I think. No complaints at all though - I love my Wested!

One of Wested's options for the hardware (zipper and side strap
holders) is the Antique brass.

This sounds like what you have. I ordered this on my Wested about
two years ago. If you have never seen antique brass before, it looks
like regular brass that has been worn down, and has black marks
as highlights on it. It will appear very dull, and have no real shine to it.

If you still have your receipt, check it and see if your order cosists
of the antique brass hardware. I bet it does from the sound of it.
