What would Indy wear today?

A Tilley hat, Merrell boots, salomon bag

What else???

I think a photojournalist-style vest would figure large in the equation.

Oh man, the list will go on ... there's a similar thread around about this one.
I'd say you have to leave the hat as is though.

He would probably be equipped with all kinds of state of the art electronics and a handheld GPS, that would help him trough his daily work in the field and not to talk about his endless travels around the globe.
The small handgun has also been replaced by a smaller version of the MP5 machine gun.

The ordinary whip has been replaced by a longer one, wich shots out from his belt by the touch of a button on his now armoured shirt.
He still has his HJ fedora of course, he wouldnt be indy without it

I don't think he would have changed much. The clothes he wears are stylish even from todays point of view. Maybe he would use some hi-tech fabric but that's about it. Possibly he would have a small GPS device maybe from Garmin. But not more, we know he travels light.

And as for a sidearm, I'm not so sure what he'd do. It's not as easy to transport to and from and wear a sidearm in public in foreign nations as it was 70 years ago. You can't just throw it in the suitcase with the jacket and whip like you used to.

He might take a liking to the AK-47 (preferred weapon of our enemy, noticeable by it's distinctive sound)... they're reliable in field conditions and you can get hold of one practically anywhere in the world.

Beans stuff isn't even made in this country anymore!

I think Indy would also have an updated bag, and not the MK VII.
Maybe it would be a back pack or something?
I also think he would have a more modern gun-holster and maybe a
semi-auto hand gun.

I took my WDW and just put it on top of everything else in my suitcase, and my parents never new, until when we were stopped in the airport by security while gettin our luggage x-rayed........hehehe.....

Totally agree on the photojournalist type vest. Almost every field person I run across (including myself when on a EFP shoot) wears those things when out and about. More pockets on those things to store 'stuff' than you can shake a stick at! Regards. Michaelson

I agree that Indy would have updated somewhat. For example, his pants would likely be cargo pants, and the soles of his boots would have some sort of non-slip surface.

REI still has those awesome safari-weight shirts made by "Columbia" I assume.
