I was sitting in my bedroom,
When something caught my gaze. It was my wested cow, with
a matching cow hide on top of it! And it gave me the instant idea!
I have enough leather crafting skills to create my own jacket!
And i may actually do it to! What are your thoughts?

I say go for it. I thought about doing this, but my sewing skills are "zero" and then I thought about modifying one of my Westeds to fit exactly the way I want. But again, my sewing skills are "zero." To do it properly may require dismembering of a jacket to reveal the "secrets." It never hurts to try something if you are capable. Go for it and take pictures. You, my friend will have the most unique jacket of us all. A hand made, home-made custom Molorom jacket. Good luck!

Keep your mind on the job at all times though..

I am reminded of a friend of mine, who, being a little short of cash, bought a "bargain" shirt at an "unbelievable, never to repeated, factory closure price". That evening, on hearing the price he had paid we asked him if there were any "problems" with it...

He said, "No, not really -- because you can't see the extra arm on the back when you've got a jacket on...!"

I will be VERY interested to hear how you do too. WAY back before I had internet access, all I had was photos of the jacket, a LOT of photos, and took them to a master leather craftsman I knew who lived in my town. He took one look at my photos, and said it would take him the better part of a month to even figure out the patterns, let alone try to figure the proper pattern assembly. Needless to say, I got tossed out of the shop. At least you have one in your hand to go by. Good luck! High regards. Michaelson
