What about pictures off the Wested site?

One thing I would do is ditch the cord collar. Well, that is, if it was me buying. I'm not trying to say that it's a bad thing... doesn't Michaelson have one with a cord collar?

I read something about them slipping. That Its much harder to
keep the cotton straps tight because theres not much for the cotton
to hold on to?

Good point. Yes I imagine cotton wouldn't have the same properties of leather in that scenario. Possibly a very wise move.

Molo, it's my understanding that Peter doesn't do modifications on the cotton jacket unless you're requesting a certain sleeve length. I have a cotton one that I love and it has the brown collor (not corduroy).

Looking at Pinocchio's feather placement, he might be having a hat turn going on here too. Oh man, I've been on this forum way too long!

In the picture it shows a snap at the collar and at the waist but when you get the jacket it doesn't come with them. I got my jacket and asked why it didn't have the snaps and was told this is the way they make the jacket.
I have no idea why the picture show them?? I asked if they could mail me the snaps and Gerry said she would, its been close to 2 months and no snaps yet.

If you want the 2 snaps ask for them when you order your jacket!!!! I think it would look better with them.

Here is the email from Wested on 7-7-04

Dear Roger

Sorry for the confusion, I am aware that it is a cotton raiders but the
"Style" differences are in the main body of the text, which, I agree, is
very confusing.

We can send you the studs to be put on locally and if you receive any
charges for this service we will be happy to refund your costs.

The collar comes either in the cordoury OR standard material, so you're not stuck there. I, too, recommend the rectanglar sliders on the side straps, though to date I have YET to get them to install them when requested on MINE, and I've ordered and received two since the prototype, so it's not like I'm a stranger to the project! The D rings to slide WAY to easily, but can be made to work, so they're not a lose-lose situation. The inside zipper is a good addition. I've got one on mine, and it not only helps keep things secure, but helps support the inner lining.

Can't think of much more to add. Just make sure you question them about sleeve length. I found a standard size 42R sleeves were about an inch to short, and you really don't experience the infamous 'sleeve' rideup with the cotton like you do with any of the leather.

I probably wear my cotton Indy more than any jacket I own, and that's a fact. I like it that much, as my wifes does hers, and D.Jones hers (she grabbed the prototype :? ), so it's a winner in my household, hands down.

Regards. Michaelson

More cotton indy owners coming out of the woodwork!
The only problem I had with my first one was that the chest was too small. Someone once said that Peter cuts his jackets like suits, which I agree with. You may want to try sizing up in the chest. If you want anything that you might think Peter would count as extra, just let him know in your order (like snaps, extra pockets, zippers, etc.).

Sliders are a real good idea for the cotton. I got mine with the rings, and they do slip alot! W>
