I'm sure people have researched this option already, but Cabelas is offering new safari shirts that are right on the money. The only thing they dont have is a pleat going all the way down the front of the shirt on both sides. It does have it on the pocket though. Colors tan and stone look good to me, especially stone if you want the Raiders color. Heres the link if anyone is interested:

Its a great price too, cant beat 25 bucks for any shirt!

Yep, I've had one for awhile now. Great shirt, but the fabric bugs me. That poly/cotton blend is just too rigid. Needs to be 100% cotton, then I'll be happy.
Oh, yeah, and pleats down the left and right front.
Oh, yeah, and different buttons too.
Oh, yeah, I'll shut up now.

I Own Three of these things. Now I own two Westeds as well. Here are my thoughts on comparison.
The Cabbelas safari is a GREAT shirt for the money. Comparred to the Wested the Pockets are very close and the stone color is almost spot on. Even though the Cabelas is a Polly/Cotton blend and quite heavy - belive it or not it feels and hangs very much like the Wested which is 100% cotton - go figure. My two main gripes with my Cabellas (ALL OF THEM) is the buttons, (I like ROTLA matching color) and the epilets (SP?) because they are really short. Other than that the Safari is a very good indyish shirt. I only wish the LL Bean came in Stone - That has the look I've owned as far as the fabric goes. Now - Shall we talk PANTS?

I own ONE Cabala shirt and I can’t wear it all summer because of the fabric. It’s not a “Safari” shirt because if you actually wore it on Safari you might suffer from the heat. Also, The buttons torque me off.
You’re better off with the LL. Bean shirt this season. I’ll be wearing on to the Hospital this Tuesday.
For the fall I hope to get one of all the other colors from Cabela, though. It's a "Safari" shirt for Winter, Spring and Autumn.

Well, due to the colder weather that has arrived, I decided to order the Cabela's Stone shirt. During 'check-out', I was hit with an unexprected $12.50 for taxes and Broker fees. Broker Fees???
Mr. Gater, we need to apply the Vaseline Tax, if you'd just turn around, sir...

I would assume the fees are for international shipping - but I've never heard of calling it "brokers" fees. A broker's fee is something like when you purchase a gun online--the gun gets sent to an authorized gun dealer (the broker) and that dealer then transfers the gun to you and charges you the broker fee.
I was charged the standard shipping charge when I ordered my shirt from Cabela's. I have, however, ordered from a Canadian source for my supplies and they charged me a silly fee for what I assume is international shipping. It also took 2 weeks to get here--so be ready to wait awhile before your shirt gets to you.
Regards,
TJ

Most goods coming into Canada get hit with a brokerage fee if it's a legit transaction. Sometimes you can get the shipper to write 'gift' or 'sample' on the customs sticker and get away without it, especially if you've only ordered one garment.
...sometimes.
I work in the garment biz and we deal with that brokerage nonsense all the time.

these charges were in addition to shipping charges, and I understand the taxes, but broker??

A broker is the person/ company that clear an item for customs. I ship a lot to Canada so I know all about this. If you declare the value of a shipment as being $15.00 or less UPS can clear it through customs and usually only tack on a dollar or two, but if the declared value is over that, they have to send it to a separate broker, and they can really stick it to ya. Most of the ones I've had to work with were real jerks too.

Yea. That's the hidden charge when ordering Wested Jackets. There is usually a +/- $21 fee for processing it through US Customs.

Argh, I got one of 'em too! Great shirts in my opnion. They are a little heavier than maybe your Wested or LL Bean shirts, but the 'Stone' color really hits the spot.

My wife is planning to go home to the Philippines for a visit. I was thinking about giving her one of my shirts and seeing if she can get a few copies of it made for me.

Hey! I get home from work yesterday and what's waiting for me? ... My new Cabelas shirt (stone). I know a lot of people have gripes about this shirt, not being 100% cotton, but I went with it because of the color. I will say it is a bit stiff but I think it will be ok after a few washings. Next stop, one of Fed's Fortune and Glory fedoras. I can't wait.
