New name for the Indy bag

Well, tonight I turned on the tv to see the Teen Choice Awards airing. Sean William Scott (from the Rundown) came up to present an award with someone else. Anyway, he comes walking up with what looks like a purse (and there was nothing manly about this purse...I think it may have even had sequins on it). He called it his murse (short for man purse). I immediately thought of the Indy bag...anyway, I regress.

Great, finally a name that not only inspires people to avoid this as a christmas present, but can cause great social unrest in my family!
Thanks Sean William Scott wherever you are

Rick broke one of his bag straps recently whilst out on a hike.
Does this mean he is now
Mursing a broken part?
Hey, he could have called for help using
Murse code.

Is it along the same lines as the "bro?"

Let's start a new trend here, folks...
Mk VII - man purse -
murse
Fedora - felt hat -
fat
Wested - leather jacket -
lacket
Aldens - work boots -
woots
Bullwhip - belt hanger -
banger
Let's adopt these new, cool phrases and overuse them on the forum... in case we feel we do not get the public scorn we deserve.
No, I don't like to call anything I own a "murse".

Taken from the article Al posted:
Stufflebean said the line between what is considered masculine and what is considered feminine has become rather vague.
"Today more men are wearing accessories such as earrings and bracelets. It has become acceptable to do your own thing, rather than worry about traditional stereotypes."
uhhhhh.....Speaking mostly for myself, but I can only assume that an entire web site forum of guys who wear rugged leather jackets and felt fedoras have accepted their sexist, mysoginist, Alpha-Male-ness with pride.
THAT'S IT!! The Heterosexual Pride Parade!!! Picture a concept of a group of males marching down the street (drunk, of course) in Westeds and Feds, crackin whips and cappin rounds!! Except no one will actually show, cuz we're all at home, sitting in our boxers on our borcoloungers, eating Cheerios and watchin the game!! (cuz the idea of "marching down the street" sounds WAY to 'fruity')

Actually, I meant the drunken hordes that roam the streets after their team won the game...
My last post should have said football

The showdown at Ten Bells, that is? Hmm... definitive legend material...

Bink, my first thought was of Seinfeld and the "man purse" Jerry had...a "European Carry-all".
Peace,

Has the whole metrosexual "phenomenon" bypassed the US or something?

Don't think so... but I believe that particular phenomenon is not what we are supposed to be about...
Quote from old thread about wearing of fedoras:
[...you have as much a right to express your style choice, as the Eminem sycophants or "Queer Eye" metrosexuals. It's tough, but remember, YOU"RE NOT ALONE. Look at how many COW members there are. We've got your back.

To take this a step further, you don't think there are gay gearheads? No, this is not some thinly veiled reference to me being gay (I'm a married guy!), but just an observation that being into gear and/or Indiana Jones isn't any different for gay folks - and I'm sure there are a number among of gay gearheads us who probably don't speak up due to the more... I dunno...
aggressive attitudes that come particularly from some US members. No finger pointing.

Of course there are gay gearheads... just as there are gay everything else. Just making a bit o' fun of the "true grit" opinions occasionally spotted on this board...
(Carefully duct-taping that worm-filled can...)
To each his/her own. I couldn't care less about the sexual preferences of board members, workmates and people in general. Sadly, it is quite common in male-dominated (straight) groups of people to ridicule and diminish people of "that other kind"... what's part of our (yes, our, I'm also guilty as charged) general humorous guy-talk could actually insult and hurt other human beings, gathered here at COW to share the world of gearhead-ism with the rest of us.
That being said, European carry-alls, murses or whatever the blasphemous bags are called, are hideous things. Regardless of one's preference. I hope all governments outlaws them. And they have zilch in common with the Mk VII, thank you very much...

Remember, it's only a purse if you carry your money and ID in it. If you carry a wallet in your pants, it's just a bag.
