J Crew Decker question

Hey all, brand new member with my first post.

A few months ago, before I knew of this site, I bought a pair of the now famous J Crew Decker boots on clearance. I wear 10.5s in every other type of shoe, but my Deckers are not very comfortable. I'm not usually a boot wearer but I'd really like to be able to wear these comfortably. Until I get my Alden's. <grin>

Anyone know of any methods of softening/stretching that might do the trick?

Well, besides just wearing the heck out of them, I would suggest maybe picking up a shoe stretcher. The can be put inside you boot, and cranked open to stretch the leather a bit.

I have a pair on right now and they're just not comfortable. It's not just the toe-box, but also the laces; they seem to dig into my ankles. They look good, though -hardly a compensation.

Mine were uncomfortable when I first got them, as well. I mean REALLY uncomfortable. I had blisters and the whole nine yards.

But after some dedicated, diligent wearing, day in and day out, for about two weeks, they finally broke in and are now extremely comfortable. Use some Pecards and just wear them until they conform to your feet. It will happen, just give it time. Oh, and wear band-aids on your achilles tendon areas to cut down on blisters back there. :?

If you think those Deckers are stiff, I can't wait to read your post when you get the Aldens.
