I saw this post about a month ago about the Carolina boot, I havn't heard anything since.

I think they look great and am tempted to get a pair, but I looked around a few online stores and it seems most places don't have this style anymore. The only thing I could find was this link:

I assume this is the one... does anyone know if 'safety toe' is steel toe?
I guess my question is has anyone bought or looked for the Carolina (Alden look-a-like) boot lately? Any advice on finding the same style in Panama's picture?

An interesting boot... not too sure about the initials on the side, but the rest looks perfectly serviceable. In terms of a safety toe - this could mean a steel toe, but to my way of thinking usually means a naturally reinforced toe, without any steel - or other - inserts. Looking at the image, it certainly doesn't appear to have steel toes. They usually make shoes look a bit clown-like.

Humm, there is a Red Wing shoe store a few minutes away... well maybe I found a new boot to get
unfortunatly it's not on the US site but rather the international, there's no price, and it has the steel toe.

Mike, where online can I find some more Alden look-a-likes? You seem to know the places and brands. Do you know the model numbers for the particular brands too?
Thanks
