Sportsman's Guide has Large Webley Holsters

Post by RC Halliburton »

I just received their "Shooters" catalog and found them for 29.97.

"Reproduction of the full-leather brown Holster used with the big .455 revolver throughout WWI and into WWII. "

Czech 'em out!

That looks just like the IMA one. Am I wrong?

It's as if some posted pics of the one I have here in my home office.

Yea. The pattern looks similar. My IMA is really light, natural tan. Difficult to darken up. This one appears to have a great brown tone. Does yours look like that? If so, I am jealous.

I'd like one of those... Am I wrong or right about them not shipping to Europe? :(

:D Happy anyway.

Swindy -
We're sorry we are not accepting International Orders at this time.

Hmmm - would a 4" S&W 586 fit that holster? :-k

If not, can anyone advise me of an Indyesque holster which would accommodate the revolver?

Yes it will fit a 4 inch S&W revolver as it was designed to fit a 6 inch or larger Webley.

Luke

(PS- My IMA holster looks identical that one as was, maybe a lttle less red hue in the leather though)

The holster looks a little big in the picture I saw of it. Is it supposed to be this big?

Check this photo out of it offered with a belt and posed with a person:

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=92133
Its the same one pictured here:http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=148423
but with a belt combo.

Does it look too large?

Guys, I really want one of these holsters but they will not ship to the UK. :(

Would anyone be prepared to purchase one on my behalf and ship it on? I could pay upfront to anyone with a premier Paypal account and would be prepared to pay a little extra for your effort. [-o<

Take pity on the Englishman! I'd really appreciate it - PM me if you can help.

Rob, I believe there is no international shipping at all. I emailed them to ask them to make an exception  but they wouldn't budge.

How cute. Feel the love, everybody. Hey, can this holster double as a barf bag? :-&

How about the angle of the holster on your belt? Has anyone answered that question yet?

ya, how about the angle? It looks to tipped over on the belt of that man. I wonder if thats the only way you can wear it.

Dang it, if it is, then it would look weird using it for Indy, but I guess 'Beggars can't be choosers'

hehehe...

Okay, okay. I just had some of these arrive at my door, today. Yes the belt loop on the back of the holster is slanted a bit in that direction. It is that way because the holster is long enough to fit a 6" (Indy148 that is a symbol for inches, not feet) barrel. It makes it easier to sit down with that long of a holster.

The good news is that the strap for your gunbelt is wide enough that there should be enough play to have the holster straight up or even with the bottom of the holster slanted slightly to the front. It may not be on there perfectly for the Indy style, but it is doable for that price.

The belt that I used to check this was 1 3/8" wide. If you use a belt wider than this, then I am sure it will reduce your wiggle room.

Ok, am I not correct in saying that the SportsManGuide holster is very suspiciously like IMA's?

http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php ... cts_id/627

The same price <b>AND</b> they <b>ship worldwide</b> at reasonable prices...

The IMA has some weird lighting in those photos, but the pattern looks the same as SMG's.

ID

Edit: Just properley read this thread, and realised I am the 342nd person to spot this similarity.
Guess a picture is worth a thousand words...

Well spotted!

I have my sportsmansguide holster now and it looks exactly the same as the IMA one you found. Probably from the same source.

It's a nice holster, well made, tough. Fits my 6" barrel great.

It's a little large for the Raiders look, but it works for me and at that price, who's complaining?

If I assume that the holster on this Sam Browne is the same holster as sold on its own,
and is also the same as the IMA offering...

As some of the previous posts have commented, this has got to be this holster on
a real small guy right? This holster looks very silly if that large, not to mention having
to carry a pistol of that size... :)

Any of you guys that have a IMG comment?

Well, I'm 5'5 and the holster fits just right. Not toooo long, and not to short. It fits my 6" barrel on my toy gun perfectly! It does look alot like the IMA one though.

Check my other thread - "Sportsmansguide.com Holster and Toy revolver"
and see what the holster actually looks like. It is a little big for the ROTLA holster, but hey, as many have said before, for the price and stuff, it's great!! :D

I recently sold my IMA Webley holster because I felt it was a bit big on me. I'm 5'8" and have a non screen accurate holster but the proportions are much better in my opinion.
