Indy whip??

Post by Robert Duke »

I just rented "O Brother Where Art Thou" and was surprised to see a whip scene where the sheriff was given one of the guys on the run a good flogging with what appeared to be a 10 or 12 foot Indy bullwhip. Without stopping the film it sure seemd like it. I couldn't tell if had a wrist loop, but it it seemed very much like one... same color and knots looked Indy-ish. I'd say this movie was set in the 1930s and there were plenty of fedoras on many of the characters.

Has anyone else seen this movie?

Yes! Great movie by the Coen brothers with G. Clooney, J. Goodman and H. Hunter. Based on the Odyssey.
I have to watch it again to spot the whip though. ;)

Oh yeah,
saw the movie a few times, the whip looked like it had a long handle on it,
but now I'm going have to check again , just be sure, cause I can't remember

 .

I know in the Movie ''Star Ship Troopers'' An Indy whip was used, or possibley a Strain, during the corporal punishment scene,
it was 10 to 12 foot.

Later.

I reviewed the scene several times last night. Though it appears at first to be an Indy, it has no wrist loop. Otherwise it looks remarkably like one.

:whip: If you have the DVD you can go to Scene #13 to see it.

What's funny was the guy coiled up the whip and stuck the handle down the front of his pants.

Well,

maybe they thought it was the same as sticking a gun under your belt.
