This may sound a little odd,
But has anyone ever thought of taking a screen accurate gun,
And shooting a hole in the left sleeve of their jacket?

Once upon a time, I running out the door late (as usual

), and I was wearing my Raiders style Wested Lambskin jacket....it got caught on the door somehow, and I heard a rip on my left arm-sleeve.

After I was all done flipping out, I noticed that the small hole/tear/rip was exactly where Indy was shot on the left arm. Ironically, I, unintentionally, got the "look" in my jacket as if it were shot....only WITHOUT shooting it, lol.

Afterall, if I were to zip up my jacket and shoot my Wested.... aiming my gun for the arm.....I'd probably end up shooting it in the chest area instead, lol, now THAT would be an attention getter for sure!

Needless to say, since I tend to be accident prone from time to time, all of my Wested jackets, that I have purchased since then, have all been Cowhide and Goatskin jackets

This CAN be topped. If this does happen, I'm sure that someone will want to have a screen accurate Nazi fire the pistol in a screen accurate truck, on a screen accurate road, with a faux Spielberg filming the whole thing with a rubber (yet screen accurate) camera. Bets anyone?

Seriously, this just prompted a thought... :idea:

Indy still has his jacket at the end of TOD, so I'm assuming it may have been the same jacket he wore in ROTLA...erm, assuming it was real...

The jacket in question was shot at, dragged behind a truck and lost?? during the quest for the ark, therefore the new style jacket in LC. Voila.

To be truly accurate, the jacket should be torn using a squibb and not a bullet. The squibb would be placed inside of the jacket, its detonation would produce minor yet distinguishably different marks (to the trained eye) than would a bullet. Did I mention that I’m having a hard time typing and laughing? Golly, it feels like Friday.

Whilst we're at it, in order to get a truly correct LC bash you should have your Dad hit you over the head with a Ming vase.

Ah, but if you were replicating the "bash" you would need to use a "replica" fake Ming vase. This is done quite easily, Target has a wonderful housewares selection.

I tried shooting up a leather jacket for an old "Hells Highway" patrol costume, (No one was wearing it at the time) and the results were less than spectacular.
Regular old bullets just slip through the leather, leaving small and fairly invisible puckers.

I s'pose one might try a 12 gauge, but, there wouldn't be too much leftover afterwards.

Well, technically, if you want it to be screen accurate, you have to place a blood squib in the sleeve, probably slice the jacket a bit, then detonate it with a small charge... the hollywood magic style of gunshots.

Haven't anyone planned to make a Barranca "prickly back" blow dart-shirt? Or perhaps, a croc-distressed Mola Ram-outfit? The Chinese gangster shish-kebab-tux is also an idea...

I still think a Temple of Doom shirt with a detachable right sleeve would sell like hotcakes. Snaps, perhaps? Or Velcro.
