Hi all,
new here, first post.
All of a sudden, even if I've been collecting props for a few years now, the Indy Mania got me.
Totally.
I need ALL. And I will try to get it to the most accurate specs out there.
Please feel free to chime in.
I also thought I'd post my "villain" (still need to get the heros) Indy gun props (real but demilled WWII weapons).
Ciao!

Nice stuff!
Just don't go flashing that broomhandle near any Star Wars fans.
Is that the MP38 or 40?

I'm not too sure about the term "demilled." Does this mean that they no longer have a rifle bore, or are they just plain plugged?

lol guys, hi again and many thanks for the kind words and warm welcome
Well, as to that mauser, I'm already a BIG TIME SW collector, so don't I know that lol
The smg is an original MP40
ALL those guns are demilled in a way they have both plugged barrel and no bore. Unfortunately, they are permanently demilled.
But that allows me to bring them around at cons with my various costumes
I have a LOT of stuff guys. I'm really nuts about collecting.
Just some major things (just for you asked
):
- Screen used full german soldier from Saving Provate Ryan and Band of Brothers
- Screen used full US 101st from Band of Brothers
- Han Solo's ANH costume
- A few cast off original stormtroopers from Star Wars ANH
lol
before I go on, does any of you know the RPF forum?
I'm there also by the screen name "Blastermaniac".
Please note: just showing off with you right now for the sheer pleasure of being among collectors. Hope you got this
Thanks!
One last thing: in the process of getting both a M1917 S&W and a Browning. Can't make myself like the Webley...just can't lol

Demilled means different things in different countries, but all countries agree that it is a gun which can no longer be made to fire a bullet. The method of demilling a gun is different per each country's laws,
Demilling firearms is something that I am completely and whole-heartedly against. It's destroying history, in my opinion.

Hi buddy, it's me
Thanks for your super kind words
Well guys, concerning your understandable position on deactivated guns (I understand you keep in high respect weapons, their use, rules of engagement, historical value and many more important concepts I share with you) it's yes and no.
As it's been mentioned above, many are the laws in the many countries around the world.
I am located in Italy.
For those of you whom don't know, Italy has the most strict laws and regulations concerning live weapons (including antiques!!!!).
It could (and should) be surprising that a country like Italy - mother of Beretta, just to name you one - doesn't allow to carry a gun.
What am I saying. Not only carry. To own.
Owning guns (live guns) is NOT allowed here.
Who wants to, has to go thru the most incredible series of exams, evaluations and burocratic control one could imagine.
While the fact that - apparently, not knowing the system here - one could agree with such serious approach, naturally the system itself is far from being perfect, and the result is a huge mess. People waiting for years - literally - to own a gun.
Living here, and having had the passion for guns since a little boy, I started looking for what I could find.
Replicas. Until a found a little pawn shop.
It was paradise for me.
Do you understand. Can you
Try to see it the opposite way. This was a chance for me to further dig into history. I could have never done so if I hadn't had a chance to own these guns.
Since then, I started reading books (Ambrose ones, to name you a good writer) and the like.
Nevertheless, I also applied for a live gun license.
But it'll take me some time, as said above.
Hope I didin't bother you too much with the story of my life.
LOL,
Fil

No problem here, Fil. In fact, yesterday was a great day for target shooting. My brother-in-law and his wife were up from Columbus, Mississippi, on holday leave from the Air Force, so we were shooting all sorts of pistols and rifles, including an M-1 Carbine from WWII. MAN are those babies LOUD!
I am fortunate enough to own a gun permit which allows me to carry a firearm. That being said, I shoot for enjoyment. I haven't gotten to the point where I want to carry one wherever I go. Besides, the types of firearms I like aren't necessarily easy to conceal!

hey fil ! Good to see you made it to one of the best forums on the internet. You'll see people here are incredibly helpful !
i remember how much troulbe it was to get your blaster to you years ago. I was so afraid to send that thing overseas and was trying to hash out all our options considering one of our previous overseas shipments just simply disappeared. I am glad David figured it out for you man !
Now go get an Indy gun !

Yes my man, and it all ended nicely
Thanks again for dealing with it that way.
I'm trying to get more than one Indy gun, just make sure. One is a Victory model, old.
It's the one I could find that looks closer to the hand ejector.
I also aksed my guy to find me a hand ejector, will see.
I hear you bink, and thanks.
Target shooting is also another thing I'm looking into right now...
One question. Who should I ask about getting the right Indiana Jones things? Jacket, shirt, pants, holster,...?
Ciao

Fil, I have a WWII Victory and with the exception that it shoots a smaller bullet, it is a very close Indy gun. As to who to ask regarding getting the "right" Indy gear, my best advice is to read all the forums and decide what gear suits your needs best. Everyone has his or her preference as to the "best" gear, and that has even led to flame wars in the past.
There's a LOT of gear out there and for a wide spectrum of prices, to boot. Some folks want as close to the exact items used on screen as possible, whereas some are content with gear that looks "close enough." Some will gladly spend countless dollars without blinking, and others won't spend beyond a specific figure.
Almost everybody here will gladly make suggestions and give recommendations, but the final call is that
you need to decide what gear, manufacturer, screen accuracy, quality, price range suits
you best. Again, read all the forums, do your homework, don't rush into anything, and see what gear meets your needs. Then buy with confidence! Good luck!

Thanks again GM and Bink.
Doin'it.
I guess I found a couple holsters. will host pics soon so that you can judge them.
One's a real WWI webley. Banged and scratched.
I like the test of time...
