Screen-accurate pants detail

While looking closely at the photos of the MBA pants, as well as the screen shot of Jones pulling his Webley from his waistband in Last Crusade, I noticed that the beltloops are placed about 1/4--1/8 inch down from the top of the waistband, as opposed to the Wested's which seem to have them placed level with the top of the pants. It's a tiny detail, but for me it really changes the look of the pants.

In fact, while having a pair of pants tailored, I asked that the loops be lowered. Since my tailor expects strange requests from me, he never asked why. The result was that the pants looked as though they were from a different era, not quite the exaggeratedly high "Hollywood" waist you see Bogart wear in some films, where there is an inch or more between the tops of the beltloops and the top of the waistband, but very distinctive.

Check out the MBA pictures and compare them to a pair of modern dress pants you may already own and you'll see what I mean.
