Comparison of the Westeds - Auth Lamb VS Auth Goat

I just received my order for two jackets, exactly the same size but in different materials all together. Now hold your horses, I am not loaded here, one went to me the other went to Agent5
Just a real quick note - PETER did an incredible job. Before we sent our order in, we came up with quite the extensive list from sizing of the pocket to zipper type specification. I called Peter to confirm the changes and he was stellar. What a gentleman, what a business, what set of jackets. These are my crowning glories !!
This post is simply to show the comparison of jackets and not a showcasing. I will be taking showcasing pics of the changes we made in another post, but for right now, I thought those on the fence between the two materials would appreciate a comparison.
Of course everyone knows this, but for those just starting in, Authentic lamb is what was used in Raiders of the Lost Ark. This was confirmed by Peter from Wested who actually crafted the original Raiders Jacket. Authentic Goat is a stiffer, courser leather which is the other option, usually chosen here by the members for it seemingly higher functionality as a jacket rather than costume--- but not movie accurate. "Authentic" means simply that Wested did color matches to an original piece of jacket he had made from Raiders- thereby making the colors of the goat and lamb "Authentic" to the color of the original.
My intial thoughts on first getting the jackets surprise ! I didn't think the goat would be so much stiffer than the lamb, not to mention the grain was noticeably rougher. The lamb was also courser than what I use to seeing, but the goat really had me because of the combination of its stiffness and grain..
As far as the "fall" or "draping" of the two jackets, the goat really could stand on its own (or at least it gives that impression) therefore gives the appearance of a "stiffer" jacket. When I first received the jacket, it seemed like the goat was wearing me, instead of the other way around ! The Lamb is quite beautiful and soft in that drapes "around" the body, allowing for the panels to smoothly drape around your contours.
Concerning durability, the lamb is quite a bit softer than the goat, BUT actually stiffer than the lamb jackets I have seen and felt (I think it really is because the lamb hide I requested from peter be the most course one he could find)- lending itself to seemingly be more durable than most lamb's I have seen. No less, I still wouldn't take this jacket out on a hike on the cliffs if you know what I mean. In the end, its still a very soft leather. The goat on the other hand felt like it was a tank. This one I would take to the cliffs and go read adventuring.
So there you have it, one man's opinion on the two jacket types. If you want to go movie-movie accurate, lamb is the way to go since that is what they used. If you want a stiffer jacket that is seemingly more functional as a jacket for us Midwestern and Eastern peeps, Goat would seem more the choice.
On to the pics (thats good ol Jason and that's OPTIMO in the background):
