Here's a couple of 8 foot whips that I made this week. Both are cowhide with 2 bellies, 2 bolsters and a 12-plait overlay. Each also has a 10" steel rod in the handle with 6" of diamond-pattern plaiting showing on each handle.

I just know that I always like it when other guys post pics of their whips on this forum, so I hope the subscribers out there like these pics as well.

PS: I'm making whips full time right now. I graduated from UWEC with a double major in Math and Physics. Before I get a real job I'm going to give whipmaking a try. And so you guys know, the proceeds from every whip order are going towards my next car. My '91 Lumina has just about had it.

My apologies if the pics weren't viewable earlier this morning. I just updated the bandwidth on the site that's hosting these pics so more people can view them.

I have full information about the prices for these whips and the other whips that I make on my website, www.winrichwhips.com. Prices are per braided foot, so multiply the length that you might be interested in by the price per foot and that's your price.

Best Regards,

Adam, you do really nice work. I've peeked at your web site before and found it interesting that you experiment with other hides in addition to kangaroo. It's nice to know the ups and downs of cow vs. deer vs. roo.

I'm fiddling with learning to make a whip right now myself using leather scraps (I think it might be upholstery leather, not sure). It's not the easiest to work with because the back side is pretty rough/fuzzy, but hey, it was cheap and will give me something to mess with until I build my skills.

Anyway, I guess my point is that I'm happy to see someone using a range of leathers and describing the differences between them. Very interesting. :)

I'm about ready to give up with the site that's hosting my pictures. The one's that I've posted in this topic are down and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get them back up again.

If anybody wants to see the pics of these whips, let me know and I'll send them in an email.

As for alternative leathers that I've used, I've also done a little work with bison. It works about the same as a heavier weight shoe leather, depending on the tannage.

Adam,
nice to see you finally posted. The new whips you
posted look great. It amazing the stuff you are able to do
with cow. Each time i try to cut it thin it always snaps on me.
How come you never responded to my private message?
