Hey y'all.
I got my new whip and before I say more about it I want to know what you think about it. What is it and what did I pay for it?

The plaiting looks good on it. I'd keep an eye on the transition between the plaiting and the fall. Just being tied on like that, its bound to come apart with hard use. How well does it crack?

Upon closer look at the fall attachment, it looks as if it is not a replacable fall. It looks like the core extends the full length to the cracker, and the overlay thong was ended and tied off and even has a couple of stitches through it.

This method would cut down on the drag by being a bit more aerodynamic. It should work fine. Just try not to beat up the fall area too much and wear it off. Edwards shows a Doohan hitch that is a bit similar to this one, where he interweaves the overlay strands through the fall. Makes for a very smooth transition, but a pain to change the fall.

Other than needing a good rolling, the whip looks fine. How does it perform? That's the final say. If it cracks easily and rolls out smoothly and doesn't kickback when cracking it, then you have a good deal.

Is it from a European maker? Almost looks like an OWK whip. Never held one, but have seen pictures.

I have 2 Maurice Doohan yard whips with that type of fall. It makes for a nice smooth transition, but trust me, you don't wanna have to have that repaired. Keep the falls well conditioned with Pecards. Jim Markell put a regular hitch knot in one of them for me when the fall broke off. Mike Murphy is going to do the same for its twin. (So at the moment I only have one of my Doohan yardwhips.)

And is it me, or does the plaiting look crooked...by this I mean , it looks like the braid points are twisting around the whip...not really sure how to explain this.

I'm guessing it's a 6-7 footer...how long is the handle?

I'm very exited about this whip. It is indeed a OWK whip and it was extremely cheap. It cost less the 100 € including shipping. The delivery was very fast as it took only a couple of days to get it from the Czech republic. The problem with the vendor is, that it is one only for adults if you know what I mean. So I guess posting any URL here would not be appropriate here. Does anybody here except me ever ordered a whip there?

It was the first time I ever really practiced with a whip, and I got it cracking. So I guess it must crack very easy.
