Finished a 6 footer

Post by Mola Ram »

Hey guys,
I thought you would be intrested in seeing a whip i just finished. Its my 7th whip and its deffinatly better than all the rest. Its a 6 foot bullwhip with a 8 inch handle. It has 2 bellies, and each one is wrapped with sinew.
The knots are 4-5 knots, same as use on the morgan, and the leather is black 2.3 Oz leather, intended to be used as boot leather, but it works fine as a whip. This whip is better then any others i have made, the taper is smooth, it moves like a snake, and its the first whip i have made with NO GAPS AT ALL. This is the first whip i would be proud to sell. The reason its better then all my other whips is because I did it right this time. I followed the book, so to speak, and used whip algebra and measurments to get the length and width of the strands correct. I recorded all of the information so the whip can be completly replecated. Another reason for the improvment is the fact that I used my new aussie strander to cut the lace. And if your wondering the construction of the handle is the same style as most other whipmakers use, by binding the handle transition.
Hope you like it,
Adam

I've seen this whip and I cracked it a few times. It's pretty good. Keep an eye on this guy. He's an up-and-coming rising star.

Very nicely done. I think Mr. Morgan and company are going to have some competition soon... :)
