Original Strap Sewed On? Need Help.

Post by Tennessee R »

I just received my MK VII and it came with the original web strap. I think it is sewed onto the bag, or at least I can't figure out how to get it off.
Is there any way to get the original strap off without cutting it, or damaging it?

You can remove the stitches.

Go to any fabric store and ask for a seam-ripper. It is specifically designed for removing stitches, or sewing mistakes...

Either the stitch remover or a small sharp knife. The thread is pretty thick and quite easy to "catch". Once you have one stitch gone it is quite easy to pull the webbing apart and cut the rest of them. And remember, it is only needed on one side. :) I use the scissors on my Victorinox SAK myself. ;)
